Siege

Probably my favorite part of the issue. I loved finally seeing a government-type embrace the heroes, recognize that they do fine work all on their own, and actually support them instead of getting in their way. I think that, to me, is the spiritual start of the Heroic Age.

Right on that. I just hope Hand survives, she's been one of the best things to come out of Dark Reign. She's not really a villain either, she just got a second chance at her career by a madman and is running with the opportunity. It would be interesting to see where her character would go in the Heroic Age.

I say stick her with Steve Rogers and the Secret Avengers (provided that Rogers has anything to do with the SA).

What's with her pink hair? Is she just weird and likes to dye it or what? Seems a bit odd for a high-powered right-hand woman to the US' most powerful man.

I'm past calling Mac Venorpion at this point. I don't really want him to loose the suit, cause that means they'd undo the cool thing they did with Anti-Venom to give it back to Eddie. And the last time original characters got the Venom symbiote well...yeah...what are there names and who are they again?

oh dear god please let this mean the return of Eddie as Venom

Are Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel still f***ing?

One of them was a mobster's son, I think, from back in that Marvel Knights Spider-Man series. I don't remember anyone else. But I still like to call Gargan "Venorpion" because he'll never, ever be Venom, as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't bother me anymore because Eddie's got the Anti-Venom schtick and that seems to be going well for him, but I just refuse to call anyone other than Eddie + the symbiote "Venom."

haha I see at least somebody listened to me in the "Marvel: Stupid Quesitons thread"

Im going to reiterate what I said in another thread. Somewhere along the line, Venom became a moniker for anyone who managed to bond with the symbiote. The symbiote itself is not Venom, Angelo Fortunato is not Venom, Mac Gargan is not Venom. Eddie Brock + the alien symbiote = VENOM. Nobody else should be able to claim that. The legacy was created and belongs to Eddie Brock.

to be more specific

They went on a date, but that was it.

That's a cool move Carol did there.

Oddly easy. Sort of makes you wonder why no one ever ripped a person out of their symbiote before.

As much as I absolutely love the sight of Gargan getting ripped out of the symbiote...it just shows that the writers still don't care about continuity. You can't just rip the host out of the symbiote seeing how it is genetically grafted to that person's nervous system. It is actually coming out of the person rather than just covering them

Shouldn't be able to. At least at one point it's weaknesses were sonics and fire.

When Brock gets the symbiote back, hes taking Anti-Venom's lack of any weaknesses with him...I guarantee it

Parker couldn't handle that

Not to mention Ms. Marvel would probably feel uncomfortable at Peter for constantly telling her not to look him in the face mid-coitus.

Haha, yeah, the other New Avengers still don't know who Spider-Man is, do they?

First;

"Siege will be a very contained event, with only the main Siege series, and Embedded".

Then;

"There will also be tie-ins with the avengers comics."

Now;
"By the way, we're about to unleash an entire wave of Siege mini's and one shots"

Oh, and don't forget "There won't be any big events in the coming years, and they will all be much more contained like World War Hulk was".

Can't wait to see what big blockbuster event by Millar and Bendis they have in the works for 6 months down the road.

I'm sure it'll happen. But if events continue to be (relatively) short and sweet, I don't really mind. I'd much rather have the usual slew of events if they're 4 issues, as opposed to the usual slew of 8-issue events.
