Siege

This delay is killing SIEGE for me. You always lose points in my book for tardiness.

Am I the only one finding this hard to follow? Im like ignoring the tie ins into the Avengers book bc I dont feel they really add anything and jsut confuse the continuity and trying to follo the story
Not at all. I'm finding Siege pretty easy to follow, in fact. Irritating because I know I'll have forgotten some stuff by the time Siege #4 actually drops, but easy to follow in general.

Lots of The Sentry hate here. :wow: I actually like the character and his story. It's interesting to me anyways. Does everyone here hate him because he's overpowered or just not care about him?
How & why would The Sentry die? :woot:

Personally, I hate him because he's been written really badly for the past few years. The only thing I genuinely liked was his first mini-series by Jenkins and Lee. Bendis has done a rather deplorable job with him (although I hear he did better in Dark Avengers, which I didn't read).

Great looking art. We need an Avengers Bendis/JRJR thread. It looks like they're rebuilding Soldier Field (or Avengers Mansion). The Wonder Man scenes have me intrigued...

I enjoyed the first story arc Bendis did with him. After that the Sentry didn't do much. Bendis definitely did bring things to a head in Dark Avengers, or at least made him more a focus in the story, though. Still, outside of maybe that and Norman DA was kind of disappointing.

I thought Bullseye and Moonstone ****ing in front of a load of HAMMER guards was pretty hilarious.

Sentry had a few moments in DA, this current arc is really the first time DA has focused on him.

Yeah, it was pretty funny. I was initially kind of annoyed at how much of a ****e they made Moonstone, but I enjoyed that Hand pointed out this was a power play by her. What annoyed me mainly was that Norman couldn't see that and just let her **** around all she wanted.

I think because she was trying get to him, Daken and Nor Var on her side. Obviously didn't work with Nor Var though.

And you answered your own question. Bullseye isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the box, he can be easily manipulated, especially by some **** giving him free sex.

Dang, between her, Loki, Songbird, and Pym, it's a wonder Osborn got anything done.

I dont know about that. Bulleseye's an evil ****, he's the type of guy who'd sleep with Moonstone and then slit her throat right afterwards if he wanted to. The guy doesnt play by anyone's rules but his own (and Kingpin's i guess).

SIEGE #4 Preview:

THE MARVEL BLOCKBUSTER OF THE YEAR!! This double-sized finale brings the Dark Reign to a shattering conclusion and brings with it the bombastic new HEROIC AGE. Every single page of this book is a shocker: Lives are changed. Heroes fall. Deaths. Revenge. Villain comeuppance. And when the dust settles, who will be in charge of the Marvel Universe?? You will find out here and only here. This is the one they will be talking about. Cardstock Cover/Rated T

I'm not too impressed with those pages. It's not the art or the writing, it's how the story pans out. I know sometimes with these previews they cut out some of the final pages to avoid spoilers. I don't want to see the conflict get resolved in the first 5 pages of a double-sized book (like the end issue of Secret Invasion).

The heroes are empowered by the Norn stones. Doesn't mean they're going to steamroll over the Void in a couple pages. He's still the friggin' Void, after all.

I like that Loki was arrogantly trying to simultaneously conquer Asgard and Earth and it all blew up in his face because he underestimated the power of mere mortals. Much as I hate the Sentry's wonky power levels, a full-power Void should be a pretty serious threat, even to gods. We never really knew Loki's endgame before all this. Glad to know he wasn't just toying with everyone for fun. And I'm extremely glad that Bendis understands that Loki loves Asgard. He thinks it's got shoddy management and everyone should bow to him for his s***ty childhood, but he's never wanted to see Asgard flat-out destroyed (unless it was one part of a larger plan to rebuild Asgard in his image, of course). The fact that it's destroyed by mortals is the ultimate disgrace to any god, even Loki.

I'm disappointed. I appreciate Bendis writing in the stones for a while and having the proverbial gun on the wall be around for a while and not just pop up randomly last issue of Siege but still......I'm disappointed. I wish they had taken down the Void some other way. This seems like an out (of course I'm going off of just the preview pages and the unproven summary from another site) like "oh hey everybody power up!"
