Simon Gets The Pressure!!!!

Why would Fox be against an X3 AND 4 back to back?

After the sucess of X2, I'd think Fox would have been ecstatic for two more films guarenteed.

And filming back to back is starting to look like a rather good plan these days: look at the sucess with LotR, and even Tarantino broke Kill Bill into two parts that were quite sucessful.

I would have thought that too, but this is Fox were talking about here, and I wouldn't have held my breath waiting for that.

Yes, never underestimate the stupidity of Fox I suppose. ;)

Filming 2 films back to back is rare. Fox seems to strategize money wise, SO i doubt theyd do somethign back to back. They would need to see if the new one does well, and THEN work on the next one.

Whats the hate everyone has against X1 if you like X3 more thats fine thats your problem but X1 wasn't that bad it had a low budget.

I think one reason ppl don't pick X1 over X3 it's cuz X3 is fresh in your head while X1 may have been played out and so it's not that your sick of it but you've simply already seen it and it no longer has the same grip.

The other thing missing from X3 was the great verbal jousting between Xavier and Magneto..
I guess you haven't watched X3 since the 26th..

Yes, but it seems as though it is becoming less so these days. Plus, if Singer himself was clearly on board for this plan, it seems like a no-brainer. Sure it's risky, but IMHO a risk that had pretty good odds in favor of Fox.

O and gambitfire,

i think X1>>>X3 ;)

im gonna say this again for like the 5th time :p

i hate it when Wolverine is put in the same category as S, BM, and SP

those 3 are icons and although i see what your trying too say Wolverine doesn't deserve too be on that list. Besides those 3 icons recognition are alot more obvious and important.
Maybe not in the same iconic category, but when we talk about X-Men, he´s the most recognizable character.
Before I started reading X-Men comics, I had NO idea at all about who were Cyclops, Iceman or the Phoenix. But I knew (or at least recognized) Wolverine.
I think it´s a little bit funny that X-fans themselves are always trying to diminish the importance of the character...they would call any other third rate comic character iconic, but not Wolverine.

that's because Wolverine wasn't alway around that not all X-fans call him iconic, nor do they all like him, before him you where more likely to recognize scott's visors, Angle's wings, the Professors wheelchair, or iceman.

and i havn't recalled anyone calling a third rate character iconic. Unless you yourself consider Batman, Spider-man, or Superman thrid rate. :o

I don´t think all X-fans are supposed to like Wolverine for him to be considered iconic. He just is.
And no, I don´t think that Iceman´s ice slide or Scott´s visors are more recognizable to the general public than Logan´s claws. Of course now people know more about the characters because of the movies, but I´m talking about the general public (not the comics readers crowd) before X-Men the movie. Like I said, the only X-Men I could recognize before I started reading the comics was Wolverine. And I guess it was also the case for a lot of people.

Of course not.
What I´m saying is that sometimes the hatred of some X-fans towards Wolverine is so absurd that they´ll call any other stupid, third rate comic character like, say, Maggot, iconic before they recognize Wolverine as iconic.

Wolverine is the icon of x men to the public. Hes the one that caught on the most out of the bunch. Truth be told.

Actually i know alot of ppl that recognize other X-men as well as they do Wolverine, i mean besides the claws you really wouldn't know him and i have friends who have confused him with Vega from Street Fighter :p.

Well you prob. Knew about Wolverine cuz he was everywhere in the 80's and well now its just an epidemic :o

 why do you roll your eyes at me i havn't stated any third rate character over wolverine :o

All im saying is that he simply can't be held in the same category as S,B,S-M their publicity and recognition is much bigger the Hulk is more likely to be recognized than Wolverine as a matter of fact Hulk would be allowed in the same category :)

I rolled my eyes because you suggested that I considered Spider-Man, Batman and Superman third rate (that´s why I answered "of course not" - of course I don´t consider them third rate), not because you have stated any third rate character over Wolverine - I didn´t say you have done so.

And I agreed that he´s not as iconic as S, B and S-M, but to the general public he´s much more recognizable than the other X-Men. If the X-Men have a symbol, an icon, it´s Wolverine. Even if he´s hated by some X-fanboys...

I hope Simon does what Zak did and only answer a few of the questions that actually deserve being answered before leaving...

NO I DIDN'T!!!! :o

sorry you mis understood :p

to be honest when x1 came out and they had t he posters of the x-men and brotherhood side by side, the one i recognized most was cyclops due to his visors.hell,i thought wolverine was some random guy holding up three kitchen knives.

I want to know what Simon has to say after saying "Cyclops fans will be happy", "Rogue gets to kick a lot of ass", and "Angel kicks ass as well".

Let's face it he does have to answer for something, however, I just want to know why he gave a false impression to a lot of the fans. People took his word and was excited that maybe, just maybe we'll see a change that will make this movie mindblowingly excellent.

Then again, was it Simon or Zakk that said Batman Begins wouldn't have suffered if 25 minutes was cut from it?

Which means they don't know jack. Batman Begins is the right length for what they had to tell....

Agreed. And Batman Begins was much better than X3 imo.

Did Zak even answer any questions? I didn't see any response from them.

I agree. I was just saying what one of them said. It was during the whole running time drama and I think it was Simon who said Batman Begins was too long and wouldn't have suffered by losing 20-25 minutes of footage.

I just want to know when will he answer the questions of misleading fans? I understand he has other things to do, and that's perfectly natural, especially when you're a screenwriter and working on big time movies. However, a lot of fans(including myself) felt misled by his promises.

In my eyes I just wish they would've been honest from the beginning.

Maybe I´m one of the few around here that don´t consider B.B. that good. By the end of the movie I was looking at my watch, quite bored. To me, Sin City was the best movie of 2005, not Batman. As a movie B.B. certainly has lots of qualities, but I felt it was too cold for my liking.
But I have to agree that, when you compare B.B. to X3, it really seems that the Batman movie had more time to develop the story - and we´re talking about only one character! To me, time was the biggest problem of X3. There´s no way that Simon or Zak or anyone is going to convince me that a 1:40 movie was enough to tell such an epic story. I still love X3, but not with the same passion I love X2. X3 is too rushed, but it still has the best plot of the trilogy. It just needed more time for it to be developed the way X2 was.
Brett Ratner, we fans demand a 2:30 director´s cut now...and one that is released on cinemas, just like Peter Jackson did with the LotR trilogy! :p
