which is better? I'd say the simpsons! They own family guy.

Simpsons in its prime beats the hell out of Family Guy in its prime.

Nah, family guy goes places where the simpsons would never go.

People who like the simpsons just are stuck on the show and wont give FG a chance.

full hour of FG is on FOX tonight by the way!

Both are horrible now. As Matt said, Simpsons in its prime was better than anything Family Guy did in its prime.

I loved the pre-cancelled Family Guy episodes. I gave the newer ones a chance but they felt forced and uninspired. So don't accuse me of not giving it a chance because I think the Simpsons are better.

I'll take the worst Simpsons episode over Family Guys best any day of the week.

The irony of Family Guy is, most of its fans are too young to get 95 % of the jokes and references that make it somewhat clever and only watch for dick and fart jokes.

Simpsons. Watched 1 Episode of Family Guy and couldn't stand it.

Lucky his a Family Guy lol I prefer that.

The Simspons hasn't been remotely funny in over a decade.

Family Guy usually has two or three laugh out loud moments every episode.

I agree I can't rember the last time I laughed at the Simpsons but when I watch Family guy I laughed out loud a lot.

Nope, I tried. Didn't even giggle.

If you say so. To each his own.
But if you ask me I never have seen any Simsons joke more clever or well timed than a family guy one.

Its easy, pop culture references and dick and fart jokes. The Simpsons in its prime had clever, well thought out humor.
Fart jokes? To be honest there aren't really that many fart jokes on family guy. And the ones they do have(I'm not going to lie) aren't funny. But I never thought fart jokes were funny.
And what can I say. Making fun of celebrities is one of the funniest things now a days, Imo. Most movies, singers, actresses, ect have it coming.

family guy is funnier as of now. The simpsons is really aware kids like it when it started out it was pushing the line on its jokes about sex and nudity and violence.

I actually do have a sense of humor. It's just that the jokes were either obvious or the delivery just wasn't good.

Can you post some clips from recent Simpson episodes that are laugh out loud funny?

I doubt it.

Honestly, I also can't laugh at the current Simpsons Episodes.

Currently watching the Simpsons is more of a habit then actually thinking the show is funny.....some episodes are just horrendous.......Family Guy has it's moments which I can occasionally laugh, more like chuckle, but never really laugh in hysterics....of course I find watching the Colbert Report and Daily Show giving me my much needed dose of hillarity...Simpsons in it's prime KICKS litterally Family Guy's ass any day of the week....

The Simpsons is pretty dull right now but the Family Guy goes for cheap laughs and gags that is not relevant to the overall episode. The Simpsons in its prime was smart and hysterical that lends itself to multiple viewings. Family Guy is like the white trash version to the Simpsons middle class.

And in a lot of episodes of the Family Guy they stole jokes directly from the Simpsons. C'mon... the South Park people (currently better than both shows) can't even stand the Family Guy.

Sorry, I had to post this before I log off.

During his speech at the Harvard class day 2006, in character as Stewie Griffin, MacFarlane rebutted:

“ You're wondering to yourselves: what can I expect from the outside world? Will I find my niche? What should I know about the vast territory that lies beyond the confines of my little subculture of textbooks, Ramen noodles, coin-operated laundry and TV shows that seem to think they can skate by with random jokes about giant chickens that have absolutely nothing to do with the overall narrative? The boys at South Park are absolutely correct: Those cutaways and flashbacks have nothing to do with the story! They're just there to be ... funny. And that is a shallow indulgence that South Park is quite above, and for that I salute them.

Honestly, I think the Simpsons and southpark creators are just mad because Familyguy has gained much more popularity than them as of late.
