I wouldn't be surprised if Sinbad himself had started the rumor. It doesn't look like he is getting alot of work nowadays.

He was watching Pauly Shore Is Dead when he got the idea.

Sinbad is seriously a really cool guy. I work the MacWorld booth for my company in San Francisco every year and he always comes through and visits with all of us and checks out all the new products. He remembers the names of most of us that have been there all these years every time he shows up, which is pretty damn impressive if you ask me. He's always got like 50 kids surrounding him, following him around, and he tells them crazy stories and jokes while he goes from booth to booth. Really fun and genuinely nice guy. We saw him in the airport after one of the shows one time and he had on sunglasses and a baseball cap, trying to be incognito. So we yelled "Hey, look everyone, it's Sinbad!" as he was walking past our gate. He made this hilarious duck and cover movement that was so overstated that it only drew attention to himself and then said "I'ma kill you bastards next year!" and went off to his flight with a smile. I'm glad he's still around.
