I would love to see him back. Singer is to Superman as Raimi is to Spider-man. Capable directors who also happen to be big fans have shown VERY impressive results I must say (even the Daredevil director's cut, which is the one that was supposed to be released in theaters).
This movie felt like Donner branching out more into the comic though. There were a lot of scenes that came right out of both the comic and animated series. Like him zooming right past the airplane window. Man did that put a smile on my face.
he had good reasons for doing a pseudo remake of part 1.....i think he knows comic-fans well enough to know that they'd hang him if he did a pseudo remake of part 2.
I hope he doesn't. Singer is not the Raimi of Superman. The Raimi of Superman was Richard Donner until he couldn't find a way to end his movie. Singer made a mediocre Superman movie, and I want to see someone who can do better. Singer's movie had a shaky plot, in every facet, and non responsive characters. Great effects, but weak in about every other way.
