Sequels Sinister Six in ASM3

I don't think that Mysterio should be the Gentleman.

I do think Mysterio should be in the Amazing series somehow! I love him, my ideal Sinister Six would be:
Doc Ock
Rhino
Electro
Vulture
Mysterio
Kraven

My worry is how would they portray Mysterio and do it right? He is such a hit or miss character IMO.

But its easier to portray him in comic books, video games, or in animation. But we have never seen him on the big screen.

nobody dare seems to answer my question of how the action would work with this character

I think Mysterio could work, but sans fishbowl...

I know, for many that's the very iconic part of Mysterio, but same could be said for Electro's pentagram'd electricity hat, and what Webb pulled off for the character in TASM2 looks pretty darn good so far...

So, couldn't they just go with an illusionist who wear a cape and cowl? You know, a bog, puffy hood that kind of hidea his face. You could still keep the eye clasps for the cape, which gives that nod to the iconic version...

Powers are effectively illusions through whatever means possible. Could be holographic manipulation, drug/toxin, smoke and mirrors, robotics, etc.

They just need a way to hide his face without the fish bowl, but creatively. That's hard.

I would like them to go with the original roster:
-Dock Ock
-Vulture
-Kraven
-Mysterio
-Electro
-Sandman

Or a variety of that as long as it mostly includes the original 6

Mysterio as character is supposed to be very theatrical that's why he wears the costume. Also the best spidey quips come from "fishbowl head".

Just can't see the fishbowl conveying well on screen. Maybe just use smoke to hide his face and Spidey can say things like:

"Smoke face", "This is a no smoking area", "Cough, cough... hey, you're affecting my breathing", "Anyone have a gasmask", etc.

You get the idea...

It still comes down to this...

If Goblin is done in TASM3, then likely it will be the Sinister Six in TASM4, with Doc Ock (an Osborn Engineer - working for Harry to get revenge) as the leader. Vulture is automatic. Electro can be brought back (Jamie even said in an interview that electricity doesn't go away). Rhino can be broken out of prison. And then you have room for two more...

Black Cat could be "kind of on the baddie's side" as one of the Six (a hired thief), and then you could have Kraven, Chamelion, Lizard (forced to try to fix the serum using Spiderman's blood), or Mysterio.

I don't think Sandman will make it as Rhino would just be his replacement. For this to work Webb would have to use villains that have already been introduced...

Now, if instead Goblin's story won't end until TASM4, then he'll have to be the leader. If this happens it would be Goblin, Vulture, Electro, Rhino and two others. Those two could be Black Cat and Lizard, or Doc Ock, Kraven or another could be used.

I'm just trying to figure out which way they will go...

Marc Webb already said in an interview he likes Mysterio especially the later stuff referring to maybe Ultimate Mystero.

If & when they do add Mysterio on film as much as I want Quentin Beck original I have a feeling Webb's vision is on the Francis Klum the teleporter version.

Webb's top 3 Kraven, GG & Mysterio. He's done Electro who can zap in and out of sockets so with Webb deciding to perhaps use Mysterio in the future I don't think its hard for his fx team & co to bring him (with good story) to a movie screen near you.

I'm really intrigued by the idea of the Sinister Six being featured in a movie. They are, in my opinion, THE best supervillain team in comics. I've loved the whole concept going back to when I was first introduced to it in the "Insiduous Six" episode of the Spider-Man cartoon. The "Return of the Sinister Six" story from the early 90s remains one of my favourite Spidey comics, and their return in "Ends of the Earth" was enough of an event for me to pick up Amazing Spider-Man when I hadn't been a regular reader in years. I loved how in particular that most recent appearance of theirs presented the team as formidable enough to be a challenge for The Avengers, rather than just a threat to Spider-Man.

As far as the movie lineup goes, here's who I would include.

1. DOCTOR OCTOPUS
I think he's essential for a Sinister Six story. There have been a few short-term variations on the group that existed without him (like the Sinister Seven formed during the Clone Saga to avenge his death), but there's a reason those versions are always the least memorable incarnations. Doctor Octopus is the beating heart of the group, the genius and master strategist who can unite all these street-level thugs and utilise them in a way that elevates them to global threat. If the third film is going to be all about the Osborns with the Green Goblin as the primary villain, then Doc Ock is the guy I'd save until the 4th film, or have him lurking in the shadows recruiting members to his team throughout the 3rd film. There's the problem of Alfred Molina doing a pretty much definitive take on the character in the last franchise, but I think there's enough angle to do a different portrayal: make him cold-blooded and ruthless were Molina's take was tormented and sympathetic.

2. ELECTRO
This all depends on Jamie Foxx's Electro surviving in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but if he does, his inclusion in the group is a no-brainer. Electro has been in just about every incarnation of the group (unless I'm wrong, every comic version of the group, with him being replaced with Shocker in the cartoon's Insidious Six), and he adds some major firepower to their ranks.

3. RHINO
Another no-brainer. He'll already be established in Amazing Spider-Man 2, so no need to spent time on an origin. And if you can get Paul Giamatti in your film, you put him in your film.

4. MYSTERIO
Now, unless I'm mistaken, Mysterio has been in EVERY version of the Sinister Six. I also think he's an awesome villain, one of my favourites in Spidey's rogues gallery. But his inclusion here is a conditional one. Namely, it'll only work if, as I'm guessing, the "man in the shadows" played by Michael Massee in the post-credits sequence of the first film is Mysterio. That way, he's already an established, existing character in the universe and doesn't need to be introduced from scratch.

5. VULTURE
Similarly to Mysterio, this only really works if, as rumoured, Colm Feore has been cast as Adrian Toomes. If he's an existing character in the universe, it won't take much of a nudge to then cement his role as the Vulture, be it in the 3rd or 4th film.

6. THE LIZARD
This is the one I'm least certain on. Green Goblin, or Black Cat, or someone new could be feasible candidates for this final slot, but I think Lizard just takes the lead. On one hand, it makes sense, as he's an already-established villain in the mythology. But I don't know how Curt Connors would slip into the team dynamic. Perhaps something is done to compel him to ally with the group against his will? But honestly, I could just as likely see The Lizard allying with Spider-Man and maybe Black Cat to battle the Sinister Six, as opposed to being one of the bad guys.

So, that's 6 villains, and only one of them who won't already be to some degree established by the second film. If you opt to bring in another new character to be on the team instead of Lizard - say, Scorpion, or Chameleon - then that's still only 2 new characters you need to introduce over the course of the 3rd and 4th film to give you a complete roster. Not too daunting a task.

I hope so. Massee would be nice for this role. Webb I hope will allow Mysterio to be slowly built up but I say more Ultimate version or use the teleporter gimmicks of Klum.

Have you ever read or watched any thing with Mysterio? Spectacular Spider-Man has some great Mysterio episodes go watch them.

Ultimate Mysterio would work, but he looks too similar to Electro

Please this! SO EPIC!

I think that's exactly who Massee character is...Mysterio.

Funny how so many thought Rhyes was lying when he said that Massee was just somebody who works at Oscorps; and thought he was Norman Osborn.

But he doesn't look like the Jamie Foxx/movie version of Electro.

Well there is a good reason for why people thought he was lying. Actors/filmmakers lie all the time. Its actually rather common.

We thought he was Norman due to the fact that he wore a trench coat and hat and, well, hid in the shadows. Just like Norman did in the early Steve Ditko era comics.

I'm not so convinced by this whole Gentleman thing...

First, the gentleman is a stupid character. His biggest plan was to use the Sinister Six in order to destroy money in New York, so that the jewels, art, etc. he had would be worth more. Um, really?

Yes, he is a master manipulator, and that piece of the character could be used, but why? Why not just have Norman Osborn or some other lackey be the one manipulating things?

I am pretty convinced that the character that Masse was playing as the Man in the Shadows at the end of TASM1 was either Norman Osborn or possibly Adrien Toomes. I guess it could be a new character that has become the new right hand man after Ratha (since he is presumed gone/dead).

As someone mentioned above, the clothing being worn, and the voice that was used, was very Norman Osborn.

But even if it was supposed to be Osborn, that doesn't mean it couldn't have been altered. Maybe it was Adrien Toomes as the voice/look could work, but then again Colm Feore just has the perfect look. We have seen a shot of him at Ravencroft, so maybe it will have been him in that room with Connors at the end of ASM, but some of the evidence is off, since he was wearing the hat and raincoat in the room, but not in the picture of Feore at Ravencroft...

Could it be the Chamelion pretending to be Osborn? Sure it could, since we have seen a seen from the trailer of Osborn still on his deathbed. But again, he could be pretending to still be on his deathbed, might not yet have taken the serum, which would mean the scene is prior to the visit at Ravencroft.

If you really think about it, the one thing that makes almost no sense is for the man if the shadows to be Quentin Beck. Osborn, Toomes, Chamelion or some other right hand Oscorp dude all make sense...
