I don't understand all the negative commentaries such as "crappy ID4 sequel" since ID4 was not very good to begin with, it was entertaining but that was all.

It's opening against Unstoppable with Denzel and Pine, so either of those two could come out on top. They're both gonna get steamrolled next weekend when He Who Must Not Be Named comes out.

The only saving grace of this movie is the alien designs, which at least don't look generic. Otherwise, the acting looks meh.

In the interests of fairness & not rushing to judgment---I'm looking forward to seeing the ENTIRE movie or at least a few minutes of it (in context), before slamming the actors or SFX--so far looks interesting & worth checking out.

Cloverfield had believeable acting. I actually bought that those people were under attack. They played it real. These guys just look so phony. They had Matt Reeves as a director, here they have the Strauss brothers. I'm sure we can differentiate those two in terms of quality.

From a conceptual design standpoint, I think it looks very interesting. There are a lot of shots where it looks like a creature, but there's a technological aspect to the design. Is it like the ships ARE the actual alien bodies, or what?

id expect it (before seeing the trailer) to be a ID4 level of fun but the acting appears to be 10 times worse than ID4, I mean come on its from the same guys who did AVP:R

Everyone is saying that the acting is worse than ID4...well DUHHHHH....check who was acting in ID4 and who is in this. People went to ID4 for 2 reasons...the actors, and seeing the white house blown up.....this movie obviously only has good FX to bring in the crowd, so why complain about the acting. Most teen oriented action/horror movies that come out have nobody actors and promote thier FX...no one complains about the *ahem" acting in them.

I'm surprised that a decent amount of people are interested in this movie since the directors directed AVP:R which was panned by posters here in general.
