Smackdown vs Raw 2008: ECW Invades!

IGN has announced the new WWE game, for pretty much all consoles including PS3, 360, PS2, PSP, Wii and a couple of others. It has a lot of interesting new concepts...it wont' radically change I don't think but I loved last year, the excellent online, story mode (though short) and the strongest roster in a while (including legends).

Seems like ECW has a large prescense too, and that gm mode will be combined with season.

I was surprised to see that the PS2 was listed but thats great bc if I dont have a PS3 by then , I will have to pick up that copy. Im really interested in seeing how they implement GM mode into a regular season

ECW is boring so I could care less about it in here

Honestly ECW is about the only brand I find entertaining. I'm so sick of HHH (even though he's gone), HBK and Cena, and smackdown has one genuine talent (taker) and a great commentator (JBL). I can bare smackdown actually. But ECW is my favourite at the moment. I hope sabu and sandman at least dont get fired long enough to make the game.

Hopefully they'll fix the problems that were in last years game.2007 had tons of glitches.

You think so? I can't play any of the others after 07- it leaves them in the dust, in terms of control and gameplay. HCTP still has the best roster though (not including legends).

The actual walking animations, like hip movement as so on, were just wrong. And everyone looked like they had a broom up where the sun doesn't shine.

It wasn't all that noticeable to me either, until I heard like five reviewers complain about it. We'll probably notice the difference when we play it.

I Thought the character models for Smackdown vs Raw 2007 looked great.

but the commentary was dissapointing as the developers just used the commentary from the previous game for SD vs Raw 2007.

Hopefully this problem will be fixed this year.

Yeah it does, I can't wait to play as Jeff Hardy. I'm so glad he made it in the game.

The Smackdown vs. Raw video game may miss its November deadline due to Chris Benoit. Vince McMahon wants him removed from the game, but to have him removed would require the game being delayed, which means that they would miss out on the 2007 holiday season revenue, which is always the most lucrative quarter for video games.

Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 will miss its November deadline. Mr. McMahon is going back and forth on the decision to put Chris Benoit in the game. I had read earlier on a bunch of websites that Benoit had already been removed, but according to what I've read recently, that's not true. The reason this is such a hard decision for Vince is that if he pushes the games release back then it will miss the holiday season, a season that usually sells a lot of copies of the game..
