Disney's corporation has produced the Hellraiser movies; obviously not with the Disney brand, but they definitely have their stake in movies not made by Disney. I don't think darkness of Ghost Rider is an issue.

Who knows. BTW, a GR - R movie is really the best way to go with this series. His enemies kill and sadistically torture their victims, why they have gone PG-13 and effectively neuter action and violence is beyond me.

Well, the character has basically always been a PG to PG-13 character, and the movies for better or worse made some money. I don't see Marvel willing to take that chance.

From what I remember reading, the idea of doing R-rated Marvel Studios films is not completely off the table, its just if they do get the character back I can't see it happening.
