FYI, be sure to download the MGS Encyclopedia which is free on the store. It provides a VERY extensive overview of the series, providing info on characters, locations, story themes, timelines, etc... It works with your MGS IV saves as playing through that game will unlock content in the Encyclopedia which will help connect the games as MGS IV filled in some holes that werent revealed prior to its release.

Just out of curiosity, what did you not like about it?

well the number 1 strike against it was that it was a WW2 game. I HATE WW2 based games. The only reason I got into CoD was bc of MW and the fact that they finally updated the series to modern times. I thought going back to WW2 with the following game was a big step backwards. I played the game on my cousin's 360 and later on the PS3 when they put up a demo and I didnt like it at all. The weapons are outdated, I dont care for the time period and the graphics didnt impress me. The multiplayer didnt really seem to evolve either

Your PS3 is worth nothing without Ghostbusters. It's the freaking third movie...but you're in it. Great storyline, great graphics, great gameplay, not to mention the multiplayer stuff, and of course, the original cast!

Haha MGS stories are confusing when you do know what's going on. I think when you have no idea who any of these people are or what the hell they are talking about, it would just be white noise.

So, out of the demos I've played so far, I like Bioshock and Tiger Woods 10 the best so far... go figure =) Will probably get those as well. Still downloading stuff.

Oh Id also reccommend Heavenly Sword. The biggest criticism against the game when it was released was that it was too short, probably about 6 hours. While it may not have been worth the original $60 price tag, its been out for 2 years now and you can find it for under $20. Definetly worth getting at that price. Good graphics, story and gameplay. It should provide a GoW fix until that series is released on the PS3

I finally got a PS3 (the slim being my 1st) and all I ever play is a PS1 game (FF7)! Anyway, a full year beforehand, I bought Ratchet & Clank Future. Plan on getting InFamous (maybe), Prototype (maybe), Batman: AA (maybe), Jumping Flash!, WipeOut HD.

Sucks that I can't play Rock Band 2 with four people on the Slim

Okay, about 5 days in with my PS3, and its fantastic! Uncharted is amazing... I don't even know how to describe what makes it so fun, because the majority of it doesnt involve groundbreaking gameplay or anything... I just find the characters and the story so engaging, like no game i've ever played before...

And InFamous is fantastic too... I have Protoype on 360, and I have to say, after playing both, (Even though I think inFamous is a much more well rounded and detailed game) that they actually arent that similar at all... I remember everyone complaining that they were the same game, but apart from the fact that its open world, and you have powers, they couldnt play more differently... It's like saying COD is the same as Halo... Ridiculous.

Agreed. Xbox 360 and Wii have both had their time in the spotlight. It's nice to finally see the Playstation 3 getting some forward momentum.

I'm playing both of those now. Ghostbusters so far is great. Mirror's Edge seems to have an interesting story but the game play is kind of hard for me. It's like, I usually get stuck and don't know where to go. lol.

Yeah, that looks like a cool game. Definitely will get GOW III as well, that looks amazing.

Got "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" in the mail and started playing it (looks great!) and about five minutes in it froze on me. Looked it up and apparently it's an issue with Firmware 3.0. Supposedly they're working on fixing it. So a bit longer wait for me... back to work I guess!

I'm sure that'll be addressed in firmware 3.1 or whatever they call it soon. I can't imagine Sony letting a problem with one of their flagship games go on too long
