So my disc...exploded

Saw part of an episode of "MythBusters" about that......it showed that some newer computers speed will cause some older discs to warp and explode.

Yep

You need to learn to take better care of your things, Mee. :o

I think we should send him to bed without dinner. :o

I was expecting-

"This would never happen on a Mac. :o"

No heathen, a Mac would miraculously fix the disk and the brain tumor you don't even know about yet. :o

So...

computer guy has to come out and take the thing apart. Dunno if he's gonna just clean it or replace it though.

Unless it's some special or expensive drive, it's probably not worth it to fix it. Taking it apart may just be to see if it's your fault (a foreign object is in there or something) or not.

It was under warranty, he replaced the drive, and all is well again. He said the disk was probably just defective.

I had a disk in the drive, (I run on a Dell with Windows XP) and everything was working normally and then I heard a pop and the program stopped and said "Insert disk blah blah"

So after some work I got the tray out and my disk was in pieces. I managed to get some out but there's more in there I can't get to.

I'm thinking I should call tech support but I'm not sure what they can do...?

Any ideas? This ever happen to anyone?

I think it broke.

Well now it's fixed, in your face!

Then I'll know who to sue. :o
