Ok the rumor is that Reeves Batman is in the same universe as that Todd Philips movie, if that's the case who the **** is the DCEU Batman??? So i guess the DCEU won't have a Batman series either? :loco: wtf is even going on?? Everything else seems to be on track EXCEPT the Bats.

I think the DCEU as we know it is dead. I expect WB will be focusing on solo films for the next several years - in which case it hardly matters what Reeves decides to do with Batman.

I agree that the thrust of DC movies for the foreseeable future will be solos. With little to link them explicitly to anything apart from other entries in their respective series it could be interpreted however the viewer wanted to interpret it. Personally I want Reeves' Batman to be the same Batman I first saw in BvS. So long as there's nothing to explicitly contradict that I'll be happy.

IMO if Reeves had came to Marvel (or Lucas Films) with the idea of a non intergrated film he would have gotten the boot. I honestly don't think Reeves Batman can exist in both DCEU AND Todd's verse. Especially sense we got TWO different Jokers.

I agree. I don't want two Batmans running around on the big screen at the same time.

I don't want two parallel universes either. That's too much, On the one hand you have the DCEU, and on the other you have what the hell ever Todd, and Matt have going on. I'm hoping most of this is just wild ass rumors that collider is running with. :whatever:

Absolutely agree.

The difference is that Marvel is successful enough right now that they aren't gonna do something that might screw up their plans. WB has nothing left to lose right now by bringing in a different Batman. If it's a hit with audiences and wins over people who haven't liked the previous DCEU flicks, I doubt the people upstairs care if it contradicts Batman v. Superman or Justice League.

It's kind of funny. 20 years ago, WB would probably just be focusing on other types of films other than superhero films.

Now with the special effects and ongoing financial success of Marvel Studio films, they're trying overly hard to spin too many wheels at once. I do think the notion of creating stand-alone films then connecting them at a later point is kind of in-line with what Kevin Fiegi and Infinity War writers themselves have suggested as a good idea.

Putting stuff out there and seeing what can fit together and what can't is actually pretty sound based on where things are at right now from a logic standpoint it seems to me.

I think the best thing moving forward is to simply forget we're even dealing with a shared universe anymore.

Yep. Handle it organically. If audiences respond to Aquaman, WW1984, and whatever other DC movies are coming out, then consider another team up movie.

This would be the perfect time to test out a Batman Beyond movie. Get Michael Keaton as Old Bruce, some fresh face as Terry.

Can tell DCEU stories through flashbacks.

This exactly

I'd love to see Keaton back for a BB movie.

Exactly. Show what you can do before you try another crossover.

I do want a standard Batman series still, but I’m salivating imagining a Batman beyond mpvie with Keaton.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we have a 1990s Batman that appears in Joaquin Phoenix's Joker movie, a modern day Batman appears in Jared Leto's Joker movie, another modern day Batman who appears in his own movie (complete with a third actor playing the Joker), and a medieval Batman who slays a giant Joker-faced dragon in an Elseworlds film.

Such is the state of the DCEU.

They think they have more than one Batman and that is the problem. Be that as it may, what they DON'T have, is a HULK!!! :p

What i'm hearing now is that Reeves films ARE in the DCEU...maybe

It's too late for a Blade Runner film staring Batman. Also i would rather have Clint Eastwood be the aging Wayne. In any event the only thing i can think of is that Reeves Batman is a prequel series to Affleck's Batman.

Nah Clint would be alright but Keaton is perfect, there’s no other choice. And I want a Batman Beyond movie, a TDKR movie, and a Kingdom Come movie, and I want Keaton to play future Bats in all of them

Eastwood is the voice I usually hear in my head for Batman/Bruce Wayne whenever I read TDKReturns. It has been ever since it came out!

Looks-wise I think Tom Selleck could do an aging Bruce Wayne. Unfortunately, that voice...

TDKR with Keaton would be pretty boss. His voice has gotten deeper, and that guy was the best part of Homecoming, IMHO.

"We're not in a position to negotiate."

Though since it's TDKReturns, they might as well let Hamill be the Joker.

I'm sure they can pay him enough to come back :)

I remember reading somewhere that Reeves Batman is part of the DcEU. And the only reason he likely won’t be played by Affleck is because Affleck doesn’t want to return
