It was a great version, not brilliant like the XCU (X-Men Cinematic Universe) one but still great.
Too bad we will never see Pietro again on a Marvel movie...

I wouldn't call Foxy Pete brilliant. He had one great scene in DOFP, but was pretty much INO in power level, costume, personality and name. MCU Pietro was no great shakes either, but bore some resemblance to the comic book version.

It looks like the MCU is going to have a couple of new speedsters in Makkari (Eternals) and Speed (Vision and the Scarlet Witch, New Avengers), so Pietro will likely remain buried.

The buried version of Pietro will be grounded and gritty. :o

Endgame has been heavily rumored/speculated to have some time travel in it so I'd expect there might be an opportunity for some old characters to re-appear whether they are dead or alive.

But I hope they don't end up doing some pointless retcon by having Wanda and Pietro actually turning out to be mutants and Magneto was their birth father all along. Just have Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver be their own characters independent from that character and mutants.

Id like to see him again, he didn't get a fair chance to find his place
and I greatly preferred him to Fox's ugly, overpowered glam-rock version

I wanted MCU Quicksilver to be much more arrogant and a complete *****e. He really wasn't enough of that at all. He should've had more cutting remarks and thought everyone else was too slow, even in their thinking. I don't think Aaron Taylor-Johnson was effective enough in that regard.

I preffer MCU version too.
seeing him next to Wanda was something Ive been wanting for years, and it felt more faithful than most things Fox have done. I really like the dynamic between Wanda and Pietro, so fingers crossed this fox-disney thing leads to Feige reconsidering bringing him back.

Now that X-Men are coming back it’s a shame that Quicksilver can’t be associated with them.

Whedon doesn't care. He always needs to kill someone. Well he killed the Justice League. :o

Kinberg wins Whedon by a large margin then.

Kinberg has killed:

Cyclops
Banshee
Emma Frost
Havok
Angel

and three of them just in after their first movie. talk about a huge fan of the comics :whatever:

I think Johnson could have done good things with him had he survived. Only problem is he would have been way overpowered compared to everyone else, especially if he would have been in Civil War.

I still think Fox and Marvel made some sort of deal where they can use Wanda but Fox uses Quicksilver. Either way, it was kinda silly to kill him off like that. I'm not sure how he would've fit in Civil War or Infinity War but it would've been cool

With the Fox deal approved, it'd be a damn shame if they would simply let Quicksilver die permanently, since they have a chance to bring him back (with Quantum Realm or other dimensions). I don't care if people think it makes death worthless in MCU; his death in AOU was pointless anyway, and I do not want Feige to stop using him for this reason. Bring Quicksilver back!

If the 4chan leak is true, put it this way, we might see "Pietro" in a form similar to how he appeared in a certain Mighty Avengers story.

He will remain in fast-track orbit; a current cue beat that perhaps could be likened to the deadwax area of a vinyl record so to speak.

Who knows, perhaps he's actually all over the place in Infinity War but just too fast for anyone to see him being free of a body dancing on a field of stars...:cwink:

Quicksilver is gone for good, but his is the one non-snap death that ought to be undone somehow.

Whedon should never have been allowed to kill off Pietro just so that he could satisfy his bloodlust. He wanted to kill an Avenger in the first movie, but settled for Coulson when Feige wouldn't allow that. The man has it in his head that killing characters is the only way to give a movie "stakes," which he must have settled on in high school along with his mystical waif obsession and fondness for the "Beauty and the Beast" trope. Whedon's writing tics really are annoying.

Even worse than the waste of Quicksilver's potential was the awful way he died. Instead of giving Pietro's death narrative and emotional weight, Whedon had him sacrifice himself at the last minute, far away from the decisive battle. Pietro didn't die to save the world, he died in a relatively meaningless way. And it was capped off with a tasteless, cruel joke. Four years on, I'm still disgusted by it.

I would like to see him again. There’s so much potential for stories especially with magneto coming in and Taylor-Johnson is a total babe

I don't have strong feelings on him being resurrected except that resurrections should only be done cautiously.

I'd love to see him in flashback in the Vision and Scarlet Witch show or Endgame, though. Hell, if you're going to resurrect him, involve Agatha Harkness to make her a real dramatic addition.

I want to see him and his reaction to Wanda being in a relationship with Vision. He died before we ever got to that. In the comics, he strongly disapproved and considered Vision nothing more than a walking electronic device.

As for him being overpowered compared to everyone else, well that's what the X-Men and Fantastic Four are going to be once they arrive in the MCU. There's no way of just saying they're based on technology or science. They all have actual powers.

I agree that Whedon's writing is annoying at times as well as his dialogue. I'm glad he never got to write or direct Wonder Woman in the end.

And how often are any sort of leaks from 4chan ever spot on?

Pietro's death in AoU never bothered me. I also don't feel like we need to bring him back. Some deaths do have to stay permanent. This can't be like comics where dying is a joke. Something like the snap, yeah there was never any expectation of being permanent. But by that same token, you can't just fake everyone's death or just bring back anyone who dies. At least, not deaths that were meant to stick. At a certain point, that will take away the illusion that death is possible. I wouldn't throw a massive fit if Quicksilver was brought back, but we're getting close to a point where no one can actually die if we keep bringing the Coulson's and Quicksilver's back.

To be fair, Coulson never really came back. As far as Feige is concerned, he's still dead

Yeah yeah yeah. TV and movie division splits, I know. Whether the movies acknowledge it or not, he came back. You can't really erase 5 seasons of show happening out of my memory, lol. Regardless if Feige and co want to consider it cannon, it still happened.
