So, when can we expect the first trailer?

The money shot will be Thor raising Mjolnir above his head and a large bolt of lightning striking down

Bet on it
I would plotz if it were like this
Thor138.jpg

Heh I printed that out about the size of a NOS energy drink label, laminated it and laminated it to the NOS bottle. :D

Front page still sugests the Tron trailer may be a rumor

ALl I can sy is if they don't attach a trailer, it will be huge mistake. Trons going to get some big time Box office and have a big time opener

Not really. As someone who deals with these things often I'd say that if Tron Legacy is carrying a 35mm hard lock then I expect Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides to be a more likely option, and I doubt there will be any trailers on the portable drives for Tron Legacy. As someone who assigns trailers I'd say that I won't be putting Thor on anything as early as December unless I am contracted to do so, or my trailer options are thin.

You know, they're probably never going to attach a heavy metal soundtrack to Thor, no matter how appropriate the music is to the subject matter (the God of Thunder is likely the most metal of superheroes). Don't worry, I'm sure a few dozen YouTube videos released after the trailer hits will remedy that situation. Amon Amarth and Manowar are great choices, though; how about some Bathory while we're at it?

Is this really a complaint? IN all honesty, I prefer something more classic /classy cinematic to heavy metal, for a movie about a GOD.

It worked with Iron Man, because Ironman is so very industrial and modern.

Yeah, Thor is a fantasy character more than anything else. Metal songs are written about him a lot, but I don't think they're necessarily appropriate as a score for his movie.

That said, I wouldn't mind some metal over the end credits or something.

manowar's thor the powerhead would be nice.

Now that the Green Lantern trailer has come out I'm really looking forward to the Thor trailer. I hope it's awesome. I hope we have at least one epic moment that will continuosly be turned into a .gif for months!

Thor's trailer better be a million times better than Green Lantern's trailer. If it is similar in quality I shall be disappointed.

um... Thors CGI from the comic con stuff was far more polished.....and that was months ago.

....Plus not the slightest bit of goody comedy in anything we have seen thus far.... almost toooo serious.

The trailer...perhaps a good 2 minutes 30 seconds may not actually contain anything new for people that have seen the CC stuff... I could be wrong though.

In all honesty they could give the GA the entire 5 minutes of the CC footage and most people would just be left drooling for more.

-seriously

There was the "oh no, this is Earth isn't it" line that had the potential to be groan inducing but it was well timed and there was lots of action in the trailer to bury it whereas with the Green Lantern trailer they barely had any CGI shots so the groan inducing lines stood out.

I'm really looking forward to the Thor trailer. When did the Comic Con trailer come out, about August? There's plenty of time to make a really polished, cool trailer there.

the FDCC footage was out July 24th or 25th.

Yeah seeing a polished version is going to wow alot of people.

whats the possible film to attach the trailer to?

i hope they have songs from bands like Two Steps From Hell...epic orchistral music. They did the music for the launch trailer for Mass Effect 2

Well Ken or Fiege said we'd see something in Dec. and if we don't see it on Tron the only two films Paramount has coming out is The Fighter and True Grit. The Fight starts Dec 10th and in all theaters the 17th. True Grit is the 22nd I think.

Nice.

we'll have a trailer with one of those films, for sure. :)

Thor will not be attached to an oscar bait film, that's stupid. It's a big blockbuster, it'll be with Tron or Narnia or we won't be getting it in December. Studios mean crap all with trailers, SM3's first teaser was with Superman Returns, TDK's was with The Simpsons for crying out loud.

I think a score like "Into The West" by Annie Lennox from Lord Of The Rings would also be nice. It would give the film a nice haunting, thoughtful melody.
