I had to do this while the knowledge of The Hobbit news was fresh. There is no bigger Rings fan then my self so just remember that but i also know how the Hollywood buisness works. Changes happen and they can be good and bad. Peter did a great job with Rings and it was his passion but he has seemed less interested in The Hobbit for it was a more kiddie part of middle earth as he called it.

Jackson would make a great Hobbit. His passion adn driving force will be missed but i also think its very unprofessional to disregard that there are many many great directors and writers out there. Jackson himself had said he woul like to see another person take on The Hobbit as a movie fan.

So mow is the better question who would be the most worthy ida to replace Peter Jackson. This should be considered seriously even if you love Peter Jacksons rings as i do but i ma keeping an open mind to the fact there can be a Hobbit movie.
I welcoem anyones 2 cents about this subject but do be kind about the poll please. Also give me a few moments to popst the poll.

This will be intresting, Im looking forward to hearing some names.

Alfonso Cuaron. Verbinski wouldn't be a bad choice either.

I voted for Christopher Lee. I'm not sure how serious I was.

What makes you think any of these names are worthy of directing THE HOBBIT? It seems like you just listed every director who's ever directed a "genre movie" before and, at that, left out the one who's most worthy of tackling this: Guillermo del Toro.

I did think about Deltoro as a possible choice but he i imagine will be too busy doing Hellboy 2.

Would anyone have guessed Jackson would make the LoTR movies before he got chosen? Probably not, so it'll probably be the case here, we really can't judge directors unless we know there pitch. Hell Schumacher is an accomplished director with plenty of dark movies under his belt but who would of thought he'd harken back to Silver Age comics of Batman? But having said that, I'll join the rally...

Del Toro is way to busy.

the answer is WHO CARES

the most uninteresting book out of the four, would make for a sliting wrists boring movie considering the other 3 where way close to that level of dullness

The one question you have to ask is which one of these directors will have the same passion for Tolkien's work other than Jackson?

According to Cinema Blend, they've received a few emails from different
people who claim Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie) is at the top of the "How the ***** do we replace Peter Jackson?" list. Granted, this is also the guy who brought us Alien: Resurrection (why do I feel as if some major LOTR fan just threw something at their computer). Yes, these are only rumors coming from anonymous people who may or may not have a clue -- but it's certainly a start.

Gilliam?

The director of The Brothers Grimm?

Are you ****ing kidding?

Some good names ...Terry Gilliam ...Ang Lee

...but I'm still hopeful that MGM hold out for PJ.

True, except for...every scene.

And anybody with a shred of talent should direct it, out of the names that list, that easily rules out Bryan Singer.
