"Here’s a quick test: Stop reading; inhale and exhale normally, looking down as you do. If you don’t see your belly moving, your breathing is short and shallow."

Ok, so I did the test and didn't see my belly moving...

because I can't see my belly, my chest is in the way when I look down while sitting up straight

So... am I the only gal with this particular problem, or is this a fairly common problem for women?

Nice rack.

:O

If you fancy the Jonas Brothers... cover your belly.

Same here, so it's probably common, lol.

:D Thanks Ahura, though I can hardly take much credit. Just working with information picked up from The Toronto Star's website and the gifts that God gave me.

My belly always moves when I breathe. It's because I'm so fat jolly fat.

Working with what you've got = extra points. It really did make me 'lol'.

:awesome: Harls, I enjoy making other people happier.

What exactly is this thread about?

I can't see my belly moving because my shirt is covering it... is that a valid answer?

If you're shirt is tight enough that you can see your belly and it doesn't move when you breathe normally, you're a shallow breather.

My dilemma, and that of Harls' as well, is that this particular article was
either written by a man or a woman with a smaller chest
and whoever did the writing didn't quite realize that some folks would not be able to see their bellies when sitting up straight.

So obviously you need a partner for this experiment, I guess I'll volunteer to help.

I can only assume that James Corden is a magnificent breather.

So what if I have shallow breathing... I know some people are irritated when others around them breathe too loudly
