Solo MCU Wolverine Films: Yea or Nay?

Simple and straight forward... Do you want to see the ole Canucklehead in solo films as well as with the X-Men or do you want to see him as a character only with the X-Men?

For myself... Gimme at least one Wolverine Vs. Hulk film.

I actually would like if they did it similar to the comics. Have an X-Men film without Logan first. But give the audience Logan in a film that has him going up against Banner/Hulk. Take some cues from that animated short. Weapon X program agents are after Banner, Logan is after Hulk. Maybe change it up and make Banner the one looking for a Weapon X lab in hopes of freeing himself from the Hulk.

Heck... Logan is popular enough to be the star of a series of MARVEL TEAM-UP style films where he co-stars with various other super heroes. That could be his thing when away from the X-Men.

Heavily disagree. Wolverine's mysteries and on the edge attitude played off well with others. And his solo stories, outside Origins and Weapon X, are lackluster to awful, imo. As to the topic, I say hold off on Wolverine solos for now, and just make him a team player.

I'd rather see him in films with other Marvel characters like Hulk than have dedicated solos. That would also give him instant exposure without the need to put him into X-Men straightaway.

Depends on how he's handled. If I like this version of Wolverine enough, then yeah. I don't care about Hulk, though, so I don't care about Wolverine being in a movie with him.

Eventually when the time is right he'll come back out of the wheelhouse classic '90's cartoon character many of us remember. It shouldn't be rushed though.

What to Do with Fox Film Lineup: Many fans complained about the Fox films being too Wolverine-Centric. Fox has already made X-films for next yr so might as well profit from something already made than throw it in the trash for no one to see without meddling with them in any way (don't need endless speculation like happened with Justice League).

From there, James Mangold film, X-Force, and Gambit can be lined up for 2019 and 2020 under R-Rated line of movies letting fans decide if want consider loosely connected or not. The Dark Phoenix movie coming out next yr presents the most difficult resolution so I think they should wait to see how it's recieved and decide on a sequel or not end of next yr. If a sequel, then will have to mesh with MCU while if not then can have a total reboot. With re-boot, I think that should happen post-2020.

Wolverine Solo: Wolverine solo in MCU also post-2020 after focusing on X-Men first. X-23 could continue off of Logan and be something apart from MCU like Venom is from Spiderman if Marvel going to have an R-rated line maybe if a Fox studio still exists under the Disney umbrella for the interim.

I'd rather see an R-Rated series like Punisher. The Tone of the Punisher was perfect. I wish it was more stylish but I'm not complaining about the tone of the show.

A Series could be great in the right hands.

Nay. I would rather have X-23, Deadpool movies, and (if the firsts good) New Mutants movies.

Those casts and filmmakers deserve it. But I imagine only Deadpool will get it.

Fewer films for sure. That being said, I do think X-23 is doable as even if sequels were made to it and it continued out a ways audiences wouldn't confuse it with a Wolverine appearing in the MCU being X-23 is a separate character as well as perhaps appearing under a Max-Line type movie continuing off of Logan which was an alternate future anyway. I think this would be a fitting segue until more time has passed to re-introduce Wolverine as now I think is too soon.

Yes. He can handle his own solo title perfectly fine. I also want to see Omega Red on the big screen.

Nah. There are only that many slots in a year for a MCU movie and Wolverine works perfectly as a fan favorite side character with limited screentime.

You... Do you even get what this deal means to Marvel and why fans are excited? It's like... You are purposefully misunderstanding it all.

I don't want to say unequivocally no. Let's see how things pan out.

I would rather see a Wolverine team movie like an Uncanny X-Force or an X-Force movie based on the Craig and Kyle run. Wolverine and a team of offbeat mutants doing the black ops jobs that the X-Men can't do. But then again, don't really want to see that right off the bat either.

This. I'd like him to just show up in this way as a guest star who doesn't need to dominate all the movies.

He could be in Alpha Flight, or in a Hulk vs Wendigo movie. In fact, it would be great if his very first appearance in the MCU is in the same way as in the comics where he guest stars as a mysterious figure in a Hulk movie. His debut doesn't need to be with the X-Men this time round.

And certainly if he did get his own movie, I don't want it to be isolated from the rest of the MCU doing his own thing. It should also have other non-mutant guest stars. Otherwise this is just a different version of the same thing we've had from Fox all these years.

Nay. Despite their varying quality the previous Wolverine films has done pretty well showing his story(not telling it well, but showing it) and I doubt Marvel is interested in retreading ground if they can avoid it. I see Wolverine being more like Hulk or Black Widow, appearing through the MCU have his own subplots and storyline that play out across different films. But I don't think he should head line any.

I'm going to say Nay for now. There is too much else to focus on. Although I totally want a Wolverine/Hullk buddy movie. I want that right now!
