Back when Spider-Man came out all the boards were ignorantly stating they were spotting cameos of other Marvel characters in the film, of one line in particular when Peter is wrestling BoneSaw McGraw many here claimed Peter was saying "I'm not the Thing".

I was watching the DVD with subtitles and Peter is saying "Unlock the thing".

all the nerds can rest now.

I've always taken it as "unlock the thing!" and not "I'm not the thing!" It doesn't make sense. And by the way people are reacting to the thread I would say they agree.

I never had any confusion to that line...

No, never confused that line, but that does bring up an interesting question.
Why, with a city full of super-heroes, do they never cross paths??
I can understand Spidey since he is the only character Sony has, but FF, Daredevil and X-men are all owned by Fox. I'm not wanting team-ups, don't get me wrong, but wouldn't it be cool to focus on Johnny Storm flying through the air and see Daredevil streak by in a corner of your screen? Or how about Logan and Ben Grimm wind up in the same bar? Something to put them in the same universe!

That's a good idea. Speaking of Daredevil, why is there no message board for him?

the film came out in 2002. even if there had been some debate don't you think that it would have been resolved by now?

Edit... on viewing it again he does say "Unlock the thing" hmmm
