songs that remind you of batman

DEFINATELY PERFECT SONG FOR BATMAN/BRUCE:

METALLICA - UNFORGIVEN (i know this has been mentioned, but just read the lyrics)

New blood joins this earth
and quickly he's subdued
through constant pain disgrace
a young boy learns their rules (Bruce's parents death)

with time the child draws in
this whipping boy done wrong
deprived of all his thoughts
a young man struggles on and on he's known
a vow unto his own (Bruce vowing justice)
that never from this day
his will they'll take away

what I've felt
what I've known
never shined through in what I've shown
never be
never see
won't see what might have been

what I've felt
what I've known
never shined through in what I've shown
never free (never free from fighting crime)
never me (never himself again)
so I dub thee unforgiven

they dedicate their lives
to running all of his
he tries to please them all (Batman fights crime, trying to save ppl)
this bitter man he is (Batman is bitter)
throughout his life the same
he's battled constantly
this fight he cannot win (fight/war on crime)
a tired man they see no longer cares
the old man then prepares
to die regretfully
that old man here is me (Bruce after retiring)

what I've felt
what I've known
never shined through in what I've shown
never be
never see
won't see what might have been

what I've felt
what I've known
never shined through in what I've shown
never free
never me
so I dub thee unforgiven

(solo)

what I've felt
what I've known
never shined through in what I've shown
never be
never see
won't see what might have been

what I've felt
what I've known
never shined through in what I've shown
never free
never me
so I dub thee unforgiven

wo o wo...

never free
never me
so I dub thee unforgiven

you labeled me
I'll label you
so I dub thee unforgiven

never free
never me
so I dub thee unforgiven

you labeled me
I'll label you
so I dub thee unforgiven

You know wjhat song I was listening to today that reminds me of Batman? "Back In Black" by AC/DC. Especially when you think of the DKR Batman, this song is the perfect Batman anthem.

Back in Black

Back in Black
I hit the sack
I been too long
I'm glad to be back
Yes, I'm dead loose
from the noose that's kept me hanging around.
I'm just, uh, livin' on the side 'cause it's gettin' me high,
forget the hearse cause I never die.
I got nine lives, cat's eyes, (this line could also describe Catwoman)
each and evry one of them is wondrin why,
cause I'm back!
Yes, I'm back!
Mama, I'm Back!
Yes, I'm back!
Well, I'm back, back.
Well, I'm back in black, yes I'm back in black! Ow!

Back in the thing,
I drive a Cadillac,
mama, one with a bullit,
I'm a power pack.
Yes, I'm in a band,
with a gang,
they've got to catch me if they want me to hang,
cause I'm back on the track and I'm beatin the fox,
nobody's gonna get me on another rap.
So look at me now, I'm just, uh, makin' my bread,
don't try to push your luck, just get out of my way
cause I'm back!
Yes, I'm back!
Well, I'm back!
Yes, I'm back!
Well, I'm back, back.
Well, I'm back in black, yes, I'm back in black.

(solo)

Well, I'm back!
Yes, I'm back!
Well, I'm back!
Yes, I'm back!
Well, I'm back, back.
Well, I'm back in black, yes, I'm back in black.

(solo)

Well, I'm back, back,
Back, back, back, back,
Back in black, yes, I'm back in black.

(solo & fade)

somebody said Phil Collins' In the air tonight and I agree.

Try to listen to it.

Ok, what about the other one?

Could someone please just look/listen at the other song?

Batman and preety much every love interest he's even had.

Massive Attack -- "Angel"

You are my angel
Come from way above
To bring me love

Her eyes
She's on the dark side
Neutralize
Every man in sight

To love you, love you, love you ...

You are my angel
Come from way above

To love you, love you, love you ...

This is a preety good one expressing the two personas of the character:

The Killers -- "All the Thing's That I've Done"

When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I wanna stand up, I wanna let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't
I wanna shine on in the hearts of men
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand

Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no

Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out

And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The cold-hearted boy I used to be

Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down

I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
...

Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down

Over and in, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done
All these things that I've done
If you can hold on
If you can hold on

I hope you know that The Who originally did that song, Biskit just butchered it. Anyone who think's LB's version is better is about to feel the wrath of a big Who fan.

To get back on topic, "Behind Blue Eyes" can actually be linked to several Batman characters: Batman, Catwoman, Freeze, Two-Face - thier origins can be closely realted to that song.

Sorry, sorry. Didn't notice which version you'd put. I like both versions, it's just I've heard the Biskit one more. But yes, the Who one is amazing. I guess I like them about the same, but that's just me.

Any Danny Elfman score from any movie. No matter which film it's from (take your pick), I can "hear" shadows of the Bat!

exactly!!

Not really a "song" but listen to the music in MAN ON FIRE, when Denzel's character tells the mom what he plans to do and before he does his first interrogation. It's completely and utterly awesome, with only hard guitar and soft chello. The music just suggests a completely and utterly f**ked-up individual.

Another piece of music is REQUIEM FOR A DREAM's "Summer Overture." Dark, tragic, operatic, just what Batman should be.

Love Song For a Vampire - Annie Lennox

Come into these arms again
and lay your body down
The rhythm of this trembling heart
is beating like a drum
It beats for you it bleeds for you
it knows not how it sounds
For it is the drum of drums
it is the song of songs

Once I had the rarest rose
that ever deemed to bloom
Cruel winter chilled the bud
and stole my flower too soon
Oh loneliness Oh hopelessness
to search the ends of time
For there is in all the world
no greater love than mine.

Love o love o .... still falls the rain
Love o love o .... still falls the night
Love o love o .... damned forever

Let me be the only one
to keep you from the cold
Now the floor of heaven is laid
the stars are bright as gold
They shine for you they shine for you
they burn for all to see
Come into these arms again
and set this spirit free

This song is very reminiscent of the Andi/Bruce relationship in MOTP. And Batman is quite like Dracula so it makes sense.

Like A Stone -Audioslave

On a cobweb afternoon
in a room full of emptiness
by a freeway i confess
i was lost in the pages
of a book full of death
reading how we'll die alone
and if we're good we'll lay to rest
anywhere we want to go

(chorus)
in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i'll wait for you there
like a stone i'll wait for you there
alone

on my deathbed i will pray
to the gods and the angels
like a pagan to anyone
who will take me to heaven
to a place i call
i was there so long ago
the sky was bruised
the wine was bled
and there you led me on

in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i'll wait for you there
like a stone i'll wait for you there
alone

and on i read
until the day was gone
and i sat in regret
of all the things i've done
for all that i've blessed
and all that i've wronged
in dreams until my death
i will wander on

Moody.Has a hint of Batmanesque style in parts. Also the inherent theme of not letting something go.

Hurt - Johnny Cash

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel,

I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real.

The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting.

Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become?
My sweetest friend.

Everyone I know
Goes away in the end.

You could have it all
My empire of dirt,

I will let you down
I will make you hurt.

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair,

Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair .

Beneath the stain of time
The feeling disappears,

You are someone else
I am still right here.

What have I become?
My sweetest friend.

Everyone I know
Goes away in the end.

You could have it all
My empire of dirt,

I will let you down
I will make you hurt.

If I could start again
A million miles away,

I would keep myself
I would find a way

The epitome of THE Batman song.

Beautiful song that captures the essense of Batman in its entirety. CAsh was a great singer.

Into the Fire - Bruce Springsteen
.

The sky was falling and streaked with blood
I heard you calling me, then you disappeared into the dust.

Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire

I need your kiss, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire.

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

You gave your love to see, in fields of red and autumn brown
You gave your love to me and lay your young body down.

Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire

I need you near, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire.

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love.

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

It was dark, too dark to see, you held me in the light you gave
You lay your hand on me
Then walked into the darkness of your smoky grave.

Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire

I need your kiss, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire.

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your love bring us love.

Beautiful lyrics that mesh very nicely with the idea of personal sacrifices that is a dominant theme in Batman. Also serves as a nice tribute to the heroism inherent in him.

Nice. What did you think of the song I posted for MOTP, "Sleeping Beauty?"

Here's another song, reminds me of the romance of MOTP:

Sleeping Beauty -- A Perfect Circle

Delusional
I believe I can cure it all for you, dear
Coax or trick or drive or
drag the demons from you
Make it right for you sleeping beauty
Truly thought
I can magically heal you

You're far beyond a visible sign of your awakening
Failing miserably to rescue

Sleeping Beauty

Drunk on ego
Truly thought I could make it right
If I kissed you one more time to
Help you face the nightmare
But you're far too poisoned for me
Such a fool to think that I can wake you from your slumber
That I could actually heal you..

Sleeping Beauty
Poisoned and hopeless
You're far beyond a visible sign of your awakening
Failing miserably to find a way to comfort you

Far beyond a visible sign of your awakening
And hiding from some poisoned memory

Poisoned and hopeless
Sleeping Beauty

Wow. Very nice...in a doomed kind of way.

i dont remember what it was called but it went something like :

na na na na na na na na batman!!!:):(

Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost

wake me up when september ends

summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends

I like this inherent suggestion of losing innocence in this. Rememberance, assosiated with pain. Batman. :(
