songs that remind you of batman

Broken - Seether

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph; I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel light when you’re gone away

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There’s so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away

‘cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel light when you’re gone away

Though the lyrics aren't the greatest and far from poignant, its the manner in which Seether implements pain into his voice during singing this. The theme is all the Bruce/Andi relationship was about;erasing each other's inherent pains. But then losing each other.

*sigh*
:(

I need to see that film again.

Ironically enough, it was one of the best songs from The Punisher.

"Paint it Black" by Rolling Stones is a good one, I think.

Did anyone see the JLU cartoon where Batman had to sing a song on stage?

Yes.

"Am I blue? Am I Blue?
Ain't these tears in my eyes, telling you?

Am I Blue?
You'd be too...

If each plan that you had
gone fell through..."

Man...can Conroy croon!

I had a feeling Circe was going to make Batman take off his mask or soemthing, but then the scene with him singing was great. I winced when I frst saw him on stage, but it really added to his character rather than demeaned it.

Indeed, give that man a spot on Broadway! :D:up:

Here are the lyrics to Queen's "I'm Going Slightly Mad", which Question says reminds him of The Joker on a killing spree

I'm Going Slightly Mad

When the outside temperature rises
And the meaning is oh so clear
One thousand and one yellow daffodils
Begin to dance in front of you - oh dear
Are they trying to tell you something
You're missing that one final screw
You're simply not in the pink my dear
To be honest you haven't got a clue

I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened - happened
It finally happened - ooh oh
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Oh dear

I'm one card short of a full deck (The Joker cards he leaves at the crime scenes)
I'm not quite the shilling
One wave short of a shipwreck
I'm not my usual top billing
I'm coming down with a fever
I'm really out to sea
This kettle is boiling over
I think I'm a banana tree
Oh dear

I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened - happened
It finally happened - uh huh
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Oh dear

Ooh ooh ah ah
Ooh ooh ah ah
I'm knitting with only one needle
Unravelling fast it's true
I'm driving only three wheels these days
But my dear how about you

I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened
It finally happened - oh yes
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Just very slightly mad

And there you have it

Here's a song that reminds me of Batman rescuing the beautiful heroine for a barrage of bad guys.

"Shadows Of The Night" - Pat Benatar

We're running with the Shadows Of The Night
So baby take my hand, you'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

You said - oh girl, it's a cold world
When you keep it all to yourself
I said you can't hide on the inside
All the pain you've ever felt
Ransom my heart, but baby don't look back
Cause we got nobody else

We're running with the Shadows of the Night
So baby take my hand, you'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

You know that sometimes, it feels like
It's all moving way too fast
Use every alibi and words you deny
That love ain't meant to last
You can cry tough baby, it's all right
You can let me down easy, but not tonight

We're running with the Shadows of the Night
So baby take my hand, you'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

We're running with the Shadows of the Night
So baby take my hand, you'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

And now the hands of time are standin' still
Midnight angel, won't you say you will

We're running with the Shadows of the Night
So baby take my hand, you'll be all right
Surrender all your dreams to me tonight
They'll come true in the end

Right on !

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "Face To Face" by Suzie & The Banshees, the song Bruce and Selina danced to at the Max-squerade ball in Batman Returns. Also, "Superfreak", which they played in the very beginning of that sequence.

Strawberry Fields Forever, I find it captures the twisted dementia that was Bruce's transition to adulthood quite nicely.

"Home By The Sea" by Genesis has some very Batman - related lyrics.

Home by the Sea/Second Home by the Sea (Banks/Collins/Rutherford) - 12:14

Creeping up the blind side, shinning up the wall
Stealing thru the dark of night
Climbing thru a window, stepping to the floor
Checking to the left and the right
Picking up the pieces, putting them away
Something doesn't feel quite right

Help me someone, let me out of here
Then out of the dark was suddenly heard
Welcome to the Home by the Sea

Coming out the woodwork, thru the open door
Pushing from above and below
Shadows but no substance, in the shape of men
Round and down and sideways they go
Adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair
Then as one they sign and they moan

Help us someone, let us out of here
Living here so long undisturbed
Dreaming of the time we were free
So many years ago
Before the time when we first heard
Welcome to the Home by the Sea

Sit down Sit down
Sit down Sit down Sit down
As we relive our lives in what we tell you

Images of sorrow, pictures of delight
Things that go to make up a life
Endless days of summer longer nights of gloom
Waiting for the morning light
Scenes of unimportance, photos in a frame
Things that go to make up a life

Help us someone, let us out of here
Cos living here so long undisturbed
Dreaming of the time we were free
So many years ago
Before the time when we first heard
Welcome to the Home by the Sea

Sit down Sit down
Sit down Sit down Sit down Sit down
As we relive out lives in what we tell you
Let us relive out lives in what we tell you

Sit down Sit down Sit down
Cos you won't get away
No with us you will stay
For the rest of your days - Sit down
As we relive our lives in what we tell you
Let us relive our lives in what we tell you

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams- Green Day

I walk a lonely road (path of a hero)
The only one that I have ever known (only knows vengance)
Don't know were it goes
But it's only me and I walk alone (loneliness of being a hero)

I walk this empty street (Gotham)
On the boulevard of broken dreams (Gotham decaying)
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone (only one fighting for justice- most are corrupt)

I walk alone, I walk alone
I walk alone an' I walk a

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me (shadow of Batman)
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Til then I walk alone

Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh
Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah

I'm walking down the line

That divides me somewhere in my mind (Bruce Wayne/ Batman)
On the border line of the edge (who is who?)

And where I walk alone

Read between the lines what's
****ed up and everything's all right
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive
And I walk alone

I walk alone, I walk alone
I walk alone an I walk a

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Til then I walk alone

Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh
Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah

I walk alone I walk a

I walk this empty street
On the boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Til then I walk alone

Can't believe no one mentioned this yet. Reminds me of Batman everytime I listen to it and was rumored to be linked to Batman Begins.

Tomorrow SR-71

Song reminds me of Terry McGinnis, but could also be used for Bruce Wayne.

Is it any wonder why I'm scared?
If I was a little younger would I care?
Feeling like the walls are growing stronger
I don't know if this cage
Can hold me any longer

You never dreamed you'd have to
Live your life so guarded

Cuz they'll find a way to
Make you feel discarded

I'm not afraid of tomorrow
I'm only scared of myself
Feels like my insides are on fire
And I'm looking through
The eyes of someone else

I never thought they'd want me
To go even faster
Never thought I took my foot off the gas
Everybody loves to be in on the pressure
But I know they're all waiting
For the crash

You never dreamed you'd have to
Live your life so guarded
(So guarded)
Cuz they'll find a way to
Make you feel discarded
(Discarded)
So changed, you've become a complication
Can't make it through
Another day's humiliation

I'm not afraid of tomorrow
I'm only scared of myself
(Scared of myself)
Feels like my insides are on fire
And I'm looking through
The eyes of someone else

Someone else(x3) Is it any wonder why
The answer keeps me petrified?
Is it any wonder why I'm scared?

I'm not afraid of tomorrow
I'm only scared of myself
(Scared of myself)
Feels like my insides are on fire
And I'm looking through
The eyes of someone else

Is it any wonder why I'm scared?
(I'm not afraid of tomorrow)
If I was a little younger would I care?
(I'm only scared of myself)
Feeling like the walls are growing stronger
(Feels like my insides are on fire)
And I'm looking through
The eyes of someone else
Is it any wonder why I'm scared?
someone, someone more.....

- Take the eyes of someone else as the eyes of Batman. Brings up the important question that Bruce and Terry once asked. Is Batman the mask? Or the man behind the mask?

I'm not afraid of tomorrow
I'm only scared of myself
Feels like my insides are on fire
And I'm looking through
The eyes of someone else

This song ALWAYS reminds me of Crime ally and its relation to Batman.

"Just Close Your Eyes" by Waterproof Blonde for the BB theme.

Decieved by my eyes
in all I was told I should see
Opinions not mine
The person they taught me to be
One light in the dark
A vision of someone I knew
Then in the darkness
I saw a voice say I'm you

Inside me a light was turned on
Then I was alive

If you close your eyes
Your life, a naked truth revealed
Dreams you never lived and scars never heal
In the darkness light will take you to the other side
If I've been waiting there you'll see if you just close your eyes

Hearts uninspired
Trapped inside somebody's dream
Too close to the fire
Yet cold and so numb with the pain
The fever has broken
And the river has run to the sea
Washed to the ocean
And saved by your voice inside me

Inside me a light was turned on
then I was alive

If you close your eyes
your life a naked truth revealed
Dreams you never lived and scars never heal
In the darkness light will take you to the other side
If I've been waiting there you'll see if you just close your eyes

Never thought I would be here
So high in the air
this is my unanswered prayer
defined by another
so much wasted time
out of the darkness
each breath that I take will be mine

If you close your eyes
Your life, a naked truth revealed
Dreams you never lived and scars never heal
In the darkness light will take you to the other side
If I've been waiting there you'll see if you just close your eyes

If you just close your eyes

"Heroes And The Villians" by The Beach Boys can relate to several Batman characters.

Heroes & Villians (Wilson/Parks)

I've been in this town so long that back in the city
I've been taken for lost and gone
And unknown for a long long time
(Bruce declared dead while he being trained by Ducard)

Fell in love years ago
With an innocent girl
From the Spanish and Indian home
Home of the heroes and villains

Once at night Catillian squared the fight
And she was right in the rain of the bullets that eventually brought her down (The Joker shooting Barbara)
But she's still dancing in the night
Unafraid of what a dude'll do in a town full of heroes and villains

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done

Stand or fall I know there
Shall be peace in the valley
And it's all an affair
Of my life with the heroes and villains

My children were raised
You know they suddenly rise
They started slow long ago
Head to toe healthy weathy and wise

I've been in this town so long
So long to the city
I'm fit with the stuff
To ride in the rough
And sunny down snuff I'm alright
By the heroes and

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done

Heroes and villains
Just see what you've done

"Short People" by Randy Newman reminds me of The Penguin.
