Morbius Sony announces a Morbius movie in development!

Saw it with family over the weekend.

Yikes, but I did think it was somewhat enjoyable. If nothing else was on, I wouldn't mind having it on in the background.

Seemed like some connective tissue was missing between scenes/ideas.

This is on Netflix in the US now. I watched it and it’s… ok? Not as horrible as the internet would you have you believe but not that fun either. The smoky effects are weird and Matt Smith is clearly hamming it up. But it’s a decent enough origin that feels like another 90s comic book movie like Venom was.

I watched Morbius and.... what the hell did I watch? Avi Arad can't get out of the mid-2000s if his life depended on it.

I watched it on Netflix and the film is just there.

I finally saw this over the weekend. It was derivative in places, and it had the rudderless feel of early 2000s CBMs. That being said, it wasn't a catastrophe. Leto was believable as Morbius, and the writing of his inner struggle was competent. I didn't expect Sony to catch lightning in a bottle like they did with the Venom films, but they'll have to improve their game if they want to keep making comic book adaptations.
