agree 1000% they have all the material they need. It's all right there. They don't have to do a carbon copy of these, but the right elements are all there.

I've never been a fan of for All seasons mainly cos of the art work but there are elements id put in like the tornado and Clark visiting the preist for advice.

I voted Byrne's because Reign Of The Supermen comes from that era.

They can go ahead and carbon copy those for all I care, those are my three favorite incarnations of the character. I want a West Africa scene and a tornado scene darn it.

In Superman: The Movie, Clark didn't really do anything "super" outside of kicking a football until he became Superman. With West Africa/tornado scenes, that would change. It would still be exciting although he hasn't put on the suit.

I agree i might have not read those takes of the character myself, but like i and others have said. The best thing they can do this time around is look at the best series/stories from the many eras of the character. See which elements work out the best. Put them all together in an original way and move from their.

Whatever they do, stay away from the Donnerverse. NO MORE!!!

I do not want to see Lex as a real estate tycoon.

I do not want Lex to have side-kicks that provide comic relief.

I do not want to see the Fortress of Solitude made out of crystals.

I do not want to see anything Kryptonian made out of crystals.

I do not want to see Jor-El turning himself into a floating head that knows everything about the known universe.

I do not want to see Jor-El, or anyone for that matter, instructing Clark to become Superman.

Well my favorite version of SM is S:TAS. I don't personaly think that every thing out of S:TAS would work on film, but there are things that I think would work great like the way Brainiac is used. But I think when it comes to SM every version of SM has done at least one thing better than other versions have. So why not pull things from the different versions of SM to create a SM that I hope would be come the best version of SM so far on film.

I didn't know this, but I like it:

Whatever they do, the original fortress was just that - a fotress built into the side of a cliff. They can reimagine it if they like, but I am sick of the Donner version and I am sick of Kryptonian culture being crystal based.

well if they dont keep the crystal look i would at least like the crystals used as a store of info idea, i think that is one aspect of donnor/others that have used it that still a good ideal.

I really think that in my subconscious, the fortress has the Donner look. Doesn't the animated series have a similar look too?

I mean, it could be less barren than the one shown in the movies, but otherwise, I'm fine with the crystal version, or like what darkseid said, a combo of the three.

Eh, ideally, I wouldn't stick to any one incarnation, let alone narrow it down to just five; I'd mix and match elements from ALL eras and versions, at least where feasible.
