I'd like to, but I won't live to see it ever become affordable.

So I'll just have to resort to taking various hallucinogens so I can take a tour of inner space

Here's a place for all us science geeks to hang out and discuss Newton, Hawking, Sagan, Maxwell, Hubble, Herschel (and Herschel and Herschel), Halley, Ptolemy, Eratosthenes, Copernicus, Cassini, Huygens, Galileo, Copernicus, Kepler, and Keiper. You can also talk about that fatty deGrasse Tyson if you want. But really, it's a place to post cool stuff like this picture of the Sombrero galaxy below. God Bless You, Hubble.

How big is Uranus? I couldn't resist.

I can't believe we haven't had a thread for this yet. Lets bust out some universe debates.

Carl Sagan was a genius, in every sense of the word... My favorite astronomer. He taught science as poetry, and he's far and away the best communicator modern astronemy ever saw. Rest his soul.

I would recommend that everyone listen to this little snippet of his work... It could completely change one's worldview.

yay, Io! The most volcanically active body in the Solar system, and on of Jupiter's largest moons

Actual footage of a volcanic eruption on Io. That plume extends 200 miles above its surface.

That's no moon! Wait, no, it is a moon, Saturn's moon Mimas, featuring a huge crater left over from a massive meteor impact millions of years ago.
