^great news, i hope in my life time we can actually get a picture of the planet, if there is on there.

So can anyone sum up what news there is about space and the universe :)

I dig planets and stuff.

Its pretty boring to be honest man... not the sh:t that got you excited in grade school like they sold it to you... blame the U.S government... blame Nasa... whoever.... the Space Program has been dead for a generation now... I mean we're going to be old men by the time we land on Mars... OLD men... probably in our 40's or 50's.... who would have thought that 15 years ago? Finding the higher ordered laws of physics and applying it to cosmology as a whole is where the excitement is at these days... but I'm a Molec. Bio major... and all that string theory stuff is all way too over the top for me...

don't get me wrong, as much as I like the stuff... I mean Im mostly into finding new planets scientist discover from time to time... but who knows.

I would like it if I get frozen and years later, Im in a different world...lols:p

That's my point too... I mean considering the space program is dead... we won't be going to Mars in a while... plus there are only a given amount of hot spots in the Solar system that have really peaked Nasa's interest... Titan and Europa (moons btw)... everything else is just meh at least IMO... as far as detecting planents elsewhere... we have been doing that... but it will be quite some time before we are able to predict the properties of those planets.

That's because there are about fifty types of those planets in our solar system just like that... just a lot farther away than Pluto... so people just call Pluto one of the ise planet duds that just happens to be the closest thing to Earth...

By the way what the hell is that alien show about... where are the scientists generating that data? Does a program just randomly generate an alien planet?

future space probe that may be built to find earth or alien life-like planets

Looks like the space ship from the Tacoma comercial where the thing blows up the Earth and the guys Jeep is all that is left... better go get me a Tacoma asap...

The new president needs to listen to the former Chief of Staff and do something already:

Didn't that clip end with a dude in a suit? Besides... can we keep the UFO stuff in their own thread? This one should be about facts and developments.

As promising as some of these moons are... chances of finding life on Europa and Titan are pretty slim if you ask me... I'm no expert obviosuly and no one knows how life has arisen on this planet... but you generally need a bunch of cataclysmic events to create enough energy to form amino acids. And both those moons seem pretty stable from the looks of it.

Well................unless theyare like ice creatures..............I think you are right. cuase it's really cold there. But I think if you put plants there that can tolerate cold temps, you can change the atmosphere and make it support life. Hard to explain but it's all in my head on how it can be done. :o

How cold are we talking about here for these plants? Because on those places its darn close to absolute zero. Titan was probably a clone of the Earth 3.5 billion years ago... but it just isn't active enough. ALthough the atmosphere is 90% nitrogen... bunch of carbon liquids and gases... maybe water... all the ingredients are there... we just need to drop a couple of asteroids in there... and heat the place up if you know what I mean.

You mean terraformation, warmming the planet to create global warming, than let the planet re sustain itself by allowing carbon vapor to stick into the atmosphere, over time making liquid rain possible, ll we really need to do is plant seeds and water them let them grow, and we get oxygen and clean water.

THat's what I was thinking Iceman! You really are smart when you aren't high! :hehe:

Or smart when he isn't talking about that crack head girlfriend of his... no offense or anything.
