I just found a used copy of the boxed set of the "67 Collection"- at a used DVD store for a modest price of under $30 (it's still going for $50, $60 and more depending on where you browse online- yeesh)
In the aftermath of the contemporary (90s forward) series, it seems like the original series is less and less appreciated, for various reasons (writing, animation, music, lengthy swinging sequences, etc.)
It's too bad that the compilation of the old episodes is out of print. At the time, Disney purchased the video rights to the 60s - 90s Marvel cartoon series; this was several years before they purchased Marvel outright. I'm not sure what the holdup is at this point, it should be rereleased.
-- on a side note-- I wonder what contemporary Spider-Man comics characters would look like if they were done in the style of the old animation.
