Since it's become obvious that an ample amount of scenes were deleted or reduced from the released version of SM3 including subplots, we've opened up a new petition for a director's cut which I think everyone here should sign and spread word of if possible. It seems that each subsequent day after the release of SM3 we've been discovering more scenes that were cut such as impressive CGI Black Suit Spidey scenes, fight sequences, and a plethora of other footage. It's been said the studio requested that Raimi reduce the runtime of SM3 which makes sense considering the same happened with Superman Returns.

Given some of the negative responses (personally I loved it) the studio may want to do some spin coverage plus there seems to be more footage missing this time around than in the past. Peter Jackson has done it, lets hope Sam does as well. The folks behind the petition for a Donner cut of Superman II were successful in their efforts and considering there is larger fan base with Spider-Man, we just may have a chance as well.

I'll admit the success rate for fan petitions are few in number and far in between but look at it this way, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We can always be a positive factor in the decision process.

Consider that **** signed!

Sign it....hope the dvd version will be the director's cut

If they make this they better put in a hell of alot more footage than the short amount that was in 2.1. I mean, I know that was sufficient for the extended DVD of 2 but it will certainly not be enough for all that was missed in Spider-Man 3.

I hope they add that scene where spider-man sees venom in the mirror

I think a really smart thing to do, and they would make a hell of a lot of money off of this, is re-release the directors cut in the theatres, movies have done that before...

Sign it I will thanks for making the thread. But it makes me sick how us the fans have to go out of our way to do this... geez... i bet the first thing Peter Jackson does when he makes a movie is states that there will be a directors' cut ..

Raimi... you must put this directors cut out because people are pissed... fix this sloppy mess up and i think we have a very very good film

is anyone else having problems viewing the signatures? i cant see anyones..

I think all true spidey fans in this forum better sign this thing

Your name's a bit ironic because there's ZERO chance of that happening. This petition is also unnecessary. Given the fact that 2.1 seems to have sold quite well, I'd almost guarantee a director's cut down the line. Since Sam Raimi will at the very least be an executive producer (if not the director) of Spider-Man 4, he'll stay in touch and be ready to produce a SM3 director's cut. We'll all just have to wait for it.

Besides, I like the movie as it stands now and I'm looking forward to owning a regular cut with a load of DVD extras.

As I've said before, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We can always be a positive factor in the decision process. If enough critical demand becomes present early on then this may encourage Sony/Raimi to release this sooner rather than later. I'm sure everyone would like to own a new cut in the near future.

Thanks for the support, I appreciate it. We've reached just over a hundred signatures now.

I personally loved Spider-Man 3, and thought it was easily the best of the trilogy, but I just love Director's Cut DVDs. I like the way they did Wedding Crashers, where you could choose between the theatrical version or the "Uncorked Edition", with the cut scenes inserted into the movie. They should do the exact same thing with Spider-Man 3. Have the theatrical version and the "Superhero Edition" (Yes, I know the title 'Superhero Edition' is cheesy...The marketing people I'm sure can come up with something better)

Perhaps someone should put this on the Sony official site forum.

More scenes to make the film logical, more scenes to develop the villians, please. eddie brock's "motivation" was so weak. So yeah you photoshopped a photo for a job, when you get fired you dont hate yourself? Come on i wanna see some parker scenes where he scoops brock multiple times.

i cant view any of the signatures, can someone send me a link with the signatures on the screen??

Signed. Just curious, how many signatures before you send it to Sony?

This deserves to be bumped for more people to see.
