TeresofBlood over on IMDb has a petition going asking for Lexi's cut on the DVD/BluRay release.
Here's his post, quoted:
Well, most of us have seen the film and most of us love it, though we all have our little gripes here and there. Preliminary numbers have shown that the film won't be a success in the Box Office. This puts The Punisher's future in jeopardy.
It is rather likely that the film will do well on DVD and Blu-Ray, because the mentality of most people today is to wait for home video; especially when the previous film in the series was a disappointment to nearly everyone who watched it. BUT, without theatrical success Lionsgate may be unwilling to give Lexi's director's cut a place on home video. What may happen is that if the film does well on home video, we could see a director's cut several years from now. I don't know about you, but I don't want to wait for that.
What I'm proposing is that we start of another petition to preserve Lexi's director's cut on DVD. Looking back on the old petition, we ended up with around 830 signatures. We may have made a difference before, but to be a success this time around, we've simply got to do better.
