well i dont know if this has already been posted somewhere, but i think you guys already knew Snow Patrol was singing the "theme" song. they posted it on AOL Music to listen to. here is the link

http://us.video.aol.com/audio.full.adp?mode=0&pmmsid=1872439

its called "Signal Fire"
-_- "We're sorry. The clip you're trying to play is not currently availible in your area" Damn them. Could someone rip this and PM it to me?

AGHHHH! My speakrs dont work! So yea if anyone could rip the audio somehow and make it available for download so I can put it on ma mp3!

Fck yeah man!!! Awesome! Thanks alot.... can someone try to 'rip' this into an mp3 file, by any chance?

Will listen to directly after class. Wow, great find.

"We're sorry. The clip you're trying to play is not currently availible in your area" AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I can't hear it.
CAn someone post a audio rip for us?

Mine plays it. Or at least I think so- there's a run time and everything, no message. Keeping it on desktop for a long time today. Don't know how to audio rip though, but want MP3 to put on my personal SM3 soundtrack- that would be a kick ass addition to it! :woot:

I'm from Brasil. Maybe it'll only play for people on US. I see if theres a way to play this baby here.

BTW, Tempest9, I really enjoy that Book Summary. The last pages doesn't show up, but its ok.

Not a bad song. Typical Snow Patrol type of sound. Typical after-credits Spider-Man movie type of track. Pretty much what I was expecting. Not bad.

I was really hoping we'd get something a little harder than usual considering the darker tone of the film, but...meh.

Edit: Actually, going back and listening to the after-credits songs from SM2, this Snow Patrol stuff is far softer. Doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. More light-hearted film = harder rock, while darker film = softer rock?

Ok...

Well, consider the placement-

Harry dies leading into:

We see Harry’s funeral. Mary Jane at the Jazz club. Peter asking MJ for a dance.

The final speech is probably:

“The air is clear today. The lessons have been learned, but not easily… and they will be taught again… they are those things we know but often get forgotten along the way. That all we have that truly matters in this world is the love of our friends and our family and that they are worthy of the highest trait that we can aspire to: our forgiveness. That is the gift my friend Harry gave.”

The final swing away is Mary Jane holding onto Spider-Man as he webslings through the city.

So softer song? That actually makes A LOT of sense... still have to listen to it- but the ending is a real tear jerker, so a softer melody would actually work A LOT more than a darker song. It would fit in more with the end of the film.

Softer than SM2? I didn't think you could get any softer than that lol. SM3 will be darker no doubt but it'll also have a somber ending and they're probably going with this type of music to reflect that. I can't hear the song and I'm not familiar with the band so I'm not sure....just guessing.

Edit: Tempest19 beat me by a minute lol.

Personally, I think they should have (and still SHOULD) used Three Days Grace's "Animal I have become" for the end credits.

Go listen to that song's lyrics and melody. Just try to tell me the lyrics aren't fitting for the film and the music itself isn't in tune with previous Spider-Man songs. Just try.

It's ****ing perfect.

Yeah, but Kaj imagine that dark a song coming ofter a real tear-jerker ending... it wouldn't sound right. Alot of the audience will be sad and only see a glimmer of hope on the horizon- so, to have a song like that in a moment such as that would just sound really off.

The rest of the soundtrack will probably have darker songs. But, going off of a tear-jerker ending, it just wouldn't sound right.

Oh, I know. I agree that Snow Patrol should be playing as soon as the credits start to complement the emotional ending. But there's always at least 2 or 3 songs in the credits. I really think "Animal I have become" deserves to be second or third.

I mean...look at these lyrics...

I can't escape this hell
So many times i've tried
But i'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
(This animal, this animal)

I can't escape myself
(I can't escape myself)
So many times i've lied
(So many times i've lied)
But there's still rage inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal

Somebody help me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
Somebody wake me from this nightmare
I can't escape this hell

(This animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal)

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal

Yes, the song fits... but, as the first song- wouldn't fit.

Think of the first credits song as the next scene in the film. It has to fit chronologically.

1- Spider-Man becomes and embraces being a hero: Hero

2- Peter is "freed" and gets MJ- Vindicated

Etc.

This song fits PERFECTLY!!!!

It's mourning and it's celebratory that's the exact theme of the ending!!!!!!

- Forgiveness
- After Life
- Love between Peter and Mary Jane

ALL of this is in that song. Wow, great job Snow Patrol!!!

It's a sad song about loss, love, and learning to move on due to forgiveness. I still can't get past how great this song is for the end of the movie.

"In the confusion and after life you are my signal fire.

The only resolution and the only choice- is the fates that god forgiveness in your eyes."

FORGIVENESS. That's what this movie is about- NOT darkness.

I want to hear that damn song!!!
can someone pleeeeaasse youtube it?

Good points. Plus, after the intense action, especially the final battle, it's a song to just relax to look at the credits and take in what you have just seen.

I second that. I have no idea why it wont play and frankly I dont really care I just wanna hear the song!

I keep getting: "We're sorry. The song you are trying to play sucks ass. Please try again never."
