Batman Begins 3 and Spiderman 4 will come out the same year, 2011. Will this hurt their box office? Will they have to push BB3 off for a year? Discuss.

Batman will probably come in 2010 I would think.

how can this be "Begins" if it's the third movie?

and I don't think it would be a problem. SM will be probably around May and Batman, most likely, in July.

My bad I forgot, I meant Batman 3.

It pretty much is confirmed, knowing that BB came out in 2005 and TDK in 2008. There is a three year gap between the movies.

*facepalm* a three year gap between the first two films is far from confirmation that the third will come out in 2011. following that logic Spider-man 3 should have come out in 2006.

Indeed. I don't think anything has been set for a third Batman yet. But then I'm not sure about that, as I don't go in the Batboards.

Batman 3, Batman Begins 3, tts the same thing really. Before TDK came out its temporary title was Batman Begins 2.

I don´t see a problem here.....I bet Spiderman will come out in May and Batman in July,so they won´t hurt each other.

I think there'll be no worries in terms of box office for Spider-Man 4, I doubt that Sony would want to clash with the next Nolan Batman film. Which seems to be going from strength to strength. But with no apparent confirmation for Batman 3 - it's all spec.

If B3 and SM4 do come out in the same year, I doubt it would be B3 being pushed back. Even though SM3 opened huge and made a lot of money, the public attitude towards Spider-man is a bit lukewarm. It's not nearly as negative as F4 movies or the Ang Lee Hulk, but SM3 was definitely not as popular to the general public as the first two Spider-man movies were.

On the other hand, BB was successful and it looks like TDK is going to open huge and has a very good possibility of making a ton of money, as well as looking like it could be a great film. If TDK is as big as I think it could be, then Sony may want to consider moving Spider-man away from TDK, because there would probably be more public support for a Batman movie then Spider-man.

yeah, for those unaware that Batman had already begun.

Wait...why would BB3 neccesarilly get pushed off for a year? Why not spidey?

SM4 isn't even confirmed for 2011... Sony is "THINKING"... jeez you people need to think things out before jumping to conclusions like this.

like I said, SM4 can come in May and B3 in July.

BB3 may be a 2011 or 2012 release. WB can go either way there. I think Sony will stick to the 2011 date (where in 2011, I am not sure).

Still, Spider-Man's popularity is as endless as Batman's. Lukewarm or not, Spider-Man 4 will be hugely anticipated and have a successful box office.

The Dark Knight has really changed things...forever. There's no going back. That a movie can look so amazing and still not disappoint after so much hype (according to reviews) is beyond me. It's raising the bar for superhero films, and Marvel movies are going to have to respond by meeting that standard.

IMO, this is a good thing: Spider-Man 4 will be all the better because of TDK.

I think it was suggested for evenness' sake. SM4 in 2011 would be 4 years after SM3, so BB3 in 2012 would be 4 years after TDK. It would be less even if SM4 were in 2012, 5 years after SM3, and BB3 stayed in 2011, 3 years after TDK. Get it?

At the same time, there's also Captain America, The Avengers, and Harry Potter 8 to worry about. 2011 might be the most competitive summer in movie history.

Batman Begins (origins),The Dark Knight and Batman/Dark Knight 3 ????

It's a three year gap between films...unless they would have filmed it back to back like Lord Of The Rings did.But Spidey won't have Batman to worry about, probably someone in his own universe...when's Wolverine coming out?

May 2009 I think.

SM4 had its chance for 2010... but they decided to sit... now they should wait for 2012. Right now Avengers and BB3 are probably more anticipated films IMO. I think Cap could be more anticipated as well pending who is attached to the project. I think more than three comic/superhero films (Marvel/DC) in the summer is pushing it. I mean look what happened to TIH this year. Box office suffered because of oversatuartion.
