When I played Spiderman Shattered Dimensions I realized that the game was way too much about regular combat.
For the most of the time I didn't feel like I was playing a Spiderman game, I felt like I was playing Marvel vs Capcom, especially because Spidey had those ridiculous web sack/web hammer attacks. Spiderman Web of Shadows wasn't a perfect game, but it was a step in the right direction combat wise.
I'll explain: Spidey isn't a kung fu master, he doesn't need all those close combat moves. Spidey is a guy who uses webs all the time (not the way he used them in SD), and he uses smart take downs in fights! And you know, when Spidey webs the bad guys on walls and to street lights? More of that please!
Ofcourse spidey would have close combat moves too, but they could be simpler, like in Batman arkham asylum, where the combat is flowing, so basicly the movement never stops, almost like a one combo to defeat all enemies. Let's have that, but with more acrobatic moves!
In Spiderman games the combat has been pretty much like this: combo: move 1-move 2- move-3 *move to other enemy* move 1-move 2- move 3 *move to other enemy* and so on... Basicly, extremely repeditive. That needs to be fixed.
