The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man 4 Video Game Thread.

I don't want the Amazing Spiderman movie game to have the same game mechanics as Shattered Dimensions. Especially because Benox makes Spidey use his web in ridiculous stupid ways, imagine that in a game that's supposed to have a serious semi-realistic tone.

So, they either have to change their view on Spiderman or get out of the way so Treyarch can make the game instead

I hate movie based games, but after seeing Spiderman Edge of Time trailer, I'm actually waiting for the movie game way more since we have hopes of getting free roaming again, and also a better combat system.

You mean the movie game or Edge of Time? If you mean the movie game, I heard somewhere that Activision said "it's too early to start working on the movie based game", and that propably would mean that they have their hands full with Edge of Time...

I think Activision shouldn't have been stupid and made Beenox rush out another Spider-Man game this year, when they should have just let them work on the movie game longer. It will have to come out in practically half a year when Edge of Time hits.

Activision will never learn, oy.

the production schedule of the movie game is really by far the worst... I really wonder if they will do a movie based at all this time. I mean, not every superheromovie gets a game (the dark knight for example), and now that they are making Edge of Time, why would they bother?

I kinda disagree with that, Spidey's combat in WOS to me would have fit better in a fighting game, he had 100 hand punches and what not. The most useful move WOS had was the webstrike, which we've now seen get carried over into the more recent games. I agree with you on the swinging and the scale of the city. I would rather have NYC on the same level of detail and scale as Liberty City in GTAIV.

Spider-Man 3 scale for Manhattan was great. GTA IV scale for it is too small. I want even more areas than just Manhattan. I want explore more areas like in Ultimate Spider-Man.

I kind of wish we see birds in a free roam Spider-Man game, like crows and you can hit them, hit one and its buddies will attack you
Also add the difficulties, easy heals fast, normal heals slowly, hard has no automatic healing
Web yoyo from poles would be great

Spider-Man 3 scale for Manhattan was great. GTA IV scale for it is too small. I want even more areas than just Manhattan. I want explore more areas like in Ultimate Spider-Man.

Don't forget that GTA IV has 3 islands, and so much going for them

It had a few helicopters to follow or to stop in some missions, but they never showed in free roam so you could hang from by swinging or a web yoyo

I did too, after finally playing SM2 I was sad to see that move not added to SM3, I wish there was the ability to web yoyo on them

The main question I have about the game is: "What happened to the symbiote and its dead host?"
SM3 left so many to be answered in later games, guess they planned for better continuity in game stories since originally 6 movies (that's what I heard a few years before SM3 was released) were planned to be made, even with a loose story made of several mini stories meant to give the player freedom for better experience as Spider-Man

Here's an idea I have for a sequel that will never see the light, main villain is Carnage, one of the officials who carried the dead body of Eddie Brock is a psycho killer who knows how to kill without leaving a trace, kills random people simply for the fun of it. When the impaled body of Brock is removed it's without the symbiote which deserted its dead host and didn't die with him, attaching itself to the person it sensed would help it taking vengeance against Spider-Man

Cletus Cassidy bonds with the symbiote, knows a lot of both previous hosts, but ignores the other half of Spider-Man because it won't be fun

I think we should be giving this game a fair chance, it might still actually be good, ok at least. It's not like we're getting any better spiderman games soon. Some people prefer Shattered Dimensions over the free roaming games, but I think that the gameplay, and especially the combat system was bland, and I don't know why but they desided to go with that gameplay in Spiderman Edge of Time

Maybe were not getting the best Spiderman title, but at least they have a chance to try to improve the core gameplay from Shattered Dimension, which was just really boring after just a hour of playing

Edge of Time looks cool, but i'm really not all that excited. Activision needs to take 2 years on a Spider-Man game, IMO. Look at SPider-Man 2 the game. Personally, I loved it.

I think most of us can agree that Spider-Man 2 is the best spidey game ever. I like a good challenging game, but what I really like about spidey games are good quips from spidey. I also think Bruce Campbell should be the tour guide for every spidey game. He's so funny.

Exactly.

The sad truth is, we're never going to get a well rounded spidey game ever again unless a major overhaul is implemented and I dont see that happening any time soon.

Spidey sells always. Why bother putting in the hours and effort into it like the guys who make the Arkham games when they feel as though they dont have to? It's sad and unfair but they dont care.

Combat is great Spidey like, clinging to helicopters, several other stuff are good too
