The only time Spider-Man did any wisecracking in the Raimi era was during the video games...

SM1
"Hey junior, let mom and dad talk for a second, will ya?"
"It's you who's out, Gobby. Out of your mind!"

SM2
"Here's your change!"
"I have a knack for that."

SM3
"I'm the sheriff round these parts."

Not much, but it's there.

i have a feeling in this one movie will have more wise cracks then the last trilogy combined lol

I'm starting to think it's not the Amazing Spider-Man game...

hence my anticipation. a spidey game is all im looking forward to anyways.

SM3 as ****** as it was, had the best swinging mechanics of any Spidey game.
Spider-Man 3, the most underrated game ever, and one of the best Spidey games period

Of course I find it hard to see people find it mediocre at best (Oscorp asked me that before), almost every review bashing it is ridiculous, there are some wrongs with it, but so does every game, and this one got bashed way over the top, way way over the top

I was thinking, if there really will be a game for this, do you guys think they should bring back the 1st person stuff from Shattered Dimensions, seeing that the movie has POV shots?
No. Maybe while we're swinging, but I hated the POV fighting sequences.
Not in combat, not in swinging, in nothing, FPV should never be in superhero games

That's cool, I hope gameplay is not a rehash, USM was in no way a rehash of SM2 and it came a year after, same goes with SM3 & WoS, kinda sad Beenox didn't do the same with SD & EoT

Probably still is. Activision put them on Spider-Man duty. I think the fresh and new stuff is that it might be free roam. Both of their Spidey games are level based.

Well, if it is a TASM game (which it probably is)... let's hope it's good. :D

It's bad that you can count on one hand the amount of times Spidey wisecracked in the first trilogy...

And it isn't the TASM game. Calling Ultimate Alliance 3 right now.

How would Ultimate Alliance 3 be something fresh and unexpected?

Because Beenox has never developed a multiplayer style campaign game, nor have they done a prior Ultimate Alliance game. So...it'd be both fresh and unexpected.

I'm just saying, they wouldn't go to the Marvel offices to discuss the development of a TASM game. They'd go to Sony. I'm not saying for sure that it's UA, but it's got a helluva lot more of a chance to be UA than TASM.

Fair enough, I still think it's more likely to be a movie game than UA, but only time will tell.

I totally agree with you. Both SM3 the movie and the game had some flaws, but they are nowhere near as bad as everyone makes them out to be.

My biggest complaint with Spider-Man 3 was just that it got way too stale. It was just SM2 with a slightly better graphics engine and the side missions with the gangs were so tedious (ARSENIC CANDY YOU ****ING *****ES). It got bashed because it didn't really bring anything new to the table. Sure the button sequences were kind of cool looking, but they weren't fun by any means.

How the heck do people still say that? SM2 & SM3 are the best to me, and they are more different than the same, only similarities they have are being open world based on Raimi's movies
Combat is different, it has plenty of upgrades
Wallsprint got upgraded (I wish it was better, but it still is fun)
Web attacks have the largest variety here
Multi subdue
Hang from many poles
This game had him finally funny after the PS1 games, until SD came which had more funnies he was the funniest here
They removed the "Don't hit your face with my fist" annoying line from the previous 2 games
Dual swing was different
There are points where you can solve them in two different ways
You take photos this time instead of standing on a token and pressing a button
He finally swims, I wanted that
Spider-Sense
Freedom of choosing story segments (that should never have been criticized the way it was, they said it more than once, freedom of choice)
The first game to make the symbiote more than a suit, it had some fancy powerful attacks of its own like annihilator, and ragee mode made him much much stronger
Free fall side quests, I love those
It got bashed because it didn't really bring anything new to the table.
It did plenty of things I was wishing for in a spidey game for a long time
Sure the button sequences were kind of cool looking, but they weren't fun by any means.
I hated them at first, hated them for a while, seeing how the sequence stay the same and never changes I loved the game more after finishing the game the 12th time

Very good point! Here's my thought's on what they might mean by the fresh & unexpected:

- free roam
- completely new combat system (different from all previous games, probably a more flowing one)
- also unexpected because they may have made the game secretly for a long time, which most of us haven't really expected

and the last one... I really doubt that this will be the case but since Beenox really seemed to like the POV stuff, there's a slight, a very very small chance that they actually might make the game POV

Hmm not sure what to think about this.

He said "It's something fresh and completely unexpected ala Beenox. Enough said".

In SD, it was VERY unexpected to have 4 dimensions and playable Spideys.
In EoT, it was pretty unexpected that the story would revolve around time travel and that Anti-Venom would kill Amazing Spider-Man.

I think their next Spidey game will just be the same kind of thing. Something "fresh & unexpected" just to make the gameplay differ abit from the previous ones. For some reason, I don't think he's talking about a game based on ASM. I also don't think he's talking about a complete free roam game.

I think it's more in lines of "Whoa, Spidey will now be trapped in a huge SPACE SHIP! And he will now be able to use his powers differently due to the lack...of...GRAVITY!!"

LMAO :woot: sounds like what Beenox would give us alright

But still, I doubt that they would use the same formula with the core gameplay mechanics three times in a row and say it's completely unexpected and fresh. I also doubt that they completely ignore every fan's wishes on the free roam aspect

hmm...
If beenox is really making the movie based game, I really doubt that they would use the same giant web hammer/web sack stuff, so I wonder how the more realistic style will affect the combat. I personally hope that they would somehow fuse parkour/acrobatics and combat together.

I mean, Spidey's combat style isn't about fist mashing with a few kicks. Look at the fighting style in the movies, he's not constantly beating up badguys with his fists, he uses tactics with acrobatics and webbing. That should somehow be showed

Where does it comes from?
Who is Dee?
And how do we know he is talking about a game?
