Spider-Man: Brand New Day General News and Discussion Thread

It's clear to me what's happening is Spider-Man is going to bond with the piece of Venom from NWH. Therefore Venom isn't dead. I hope Eddie gets worked into the plot again for act 3 if this is what they do, but I think that's the direction they're going. Knull will escape somehow. Maybe Doom is involved there. I don't know. But I do think this is all bleeding into Spider-Man 4

I almost wonder if Sony is trying to set up a symbiote trilogy. Black suit for Peter in 4, help set up Doom for Avengers, like how NWH helped boost MoM. 2nd movie, Absolute Carnage, bring in Hardy's Brock, bring in a couple MCU heroes like in Maximum Carnage. Then King in Black, their mini Avengers movie like Civil War.

I can see the appeal to Marvel

You think that's insane? Remember that time Chris Rock had The Longest Yard and Madagascar released on the same day.

Eh, they're probably right that one of them moves. But each one is going to try to make the other move, so I don't think this is Sony being dumb. This is just trying to claim that window

Move Spidey to December like NWH. Worked out last time.

Nolan isn't moving. He didn't move for Barbie opening in the same weekend, he barely even moved his date for covid back in 2020. It's always late July for his movies, he's adamant in that. Everyone knows that, Sony should have too.

He probably won't move, but the studio game of chicken with dates is common. So I don't think this is really news. Now, if we are a month from release and no one has blinked....that's news. But 2 years out? Nah

Except Interstellar, which came out in October of 2014.

I just want more than 13 months production for SM4.

Tough because I know there is another Marvel film in November and Batman 2 is in October I believe. Too many cbm's packed together.

True, but that was because Paramount was co-producing and co-distributing. He's even more adamant on his July date ever since. I wish he wasn't because late July releases come a month later in my country 😥 but alas.

More people would obviously see Spider-Man in the opening weekend. So if one of them has to move (for box office reasons), its the other one that should move.

Take this with a massive grain of salt but Production List has a listing for Spider-Man 4 with a synopsis. Neither Kingpin or Knull related but Vulture is returning? Given the title Brand New Day, it still gives off Multiverse vibes, especially with Doom's inclusion. The only thing off with the listing is them having the release date as July 10th, 2026. Which I guess it's possible it could get moved earlier in the month due to Nolan's movie.

...please, no. Please do not let the title or anything related to the three words "Brand New Day" anywhere near a Spider-Man project.

I thought Vulture was stuck in the Sony-verse with Morbius?

Eh BND isn't inheritly bad, there's some good stories that came out of that era. It's just that it's lumped in with the baggage that is OMD setting the stage for Spidey comics for the next 20 years. And NWH was basically a better OMD anyway. Besides, as we all know the titles of the movies a lot of times have little to do with their comic counterparts.

If all universes get wiped out at the end of Doomsday, that could explain his inclusion. That or Marvel was like what's Morbius?

Who wants to bet that MCU Spidey 6 will be dubbed One More Day, but in name only, but likely a live-action spider marriage being born like that wedding ceremony on the front cover in one of the old issues pre-OMD.

The new threat emerges thing is pretty vague. Could still be the Knull thing, so this doesn't really dispell that. As for how Vulture is in this, this listing shows Andrew Garfield there also. So how did Vulture get there? Same way Garfield did lol! Assuming this is accurate, obviously
