If the rumored female shapeshifting character is indeed the main villain, I can see them keeping that casting under wraps for as long as possible. Especially for a character like the Chameleon who would presumably be wearing a mask for the majority of the film.

Do we think this will actually meet the July release date? Even before Holland's injury, I feel like it's a bit too short seeing as how they're still filming, and there needs to be time for post-production and marketing.

I mean, Disney can do its thing and pressure the VFX teams; but I'm thinking there's also a chance this gets pushed back some.

I wouldn't be shocked if it ends up taking Doomsday's spot. Maybe it won't be as VFX heavy as the previous two Spidey films but it still will need a lot of post production and it has a very tight schedule for a movie of this magnitude. I'm not saying I think it will be delayed, I'm saying I could see it happening.

Both Avengers and SHIELD have used a different eagle symbol in the past.

The armored vehicle seen in set photos has had a wild cat type of symbol on it.

My only problem with this theory is if Negative and the female villain are indeed in this, I would think we would have gotten official casting news by now. Is there still time?

These action/CGI Marvel movies take a long time to shoot. This movie will probably continue into November or December based on past MCU movies.

Since Marvel rarely focuses on their villains (Infinity War a huge exception), the villain actors don’t have to take much time at all to shoot their parts.

For another example, MJ supposedly has a new boyfriend (Chinese Disney Expo) and we have no idea who the actor is. Maybe he was that young man on the casting call.

I imagine you would have conversations about, If it's this big of a story affecting this much of the city, do we have to now bring in like Kamala Khan or Spider-Man or all these other New York-based heroes.

Yeah. We are communicating a lot with the team on Spider-Man: Brand New Day to make sure that there's coherence there. We don't want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important. We're in a shared universe together, but I would say just the Daredevil comic books, the Punisher comic books depicted a certain tone and an idea of New York in a different way than Spider-Man's, but they both exist in the same universe. It's similar. Everything lines up and the impacts are felt, but we're able to tell different stories.
