I got Spidey at my R1 screening and NO JOKE, people clapped when they showed the Iron Man shot.

Having RDJ/Stark/Shellhead in the film will do a lot of good.
  • He has a direct impact on the story, specifically on Peter
  • He'll make Sony some $$$
  • He's the true sign of the good faith between Sony and Marvel
  • He's the reminder this is Spider-Man in the MCU
I've said this before but I never once thought Tony Stark would overshadow Spider-Man.

My only concern was that their Civil War relationship (with Tony telling him do and Peter doing just that, for example) would factor into this film but the trailers eased my fears completely and now I'm 110% on board with Stark being in the film.

Yep, a couple people clapped after the trailer at my showing too

It's Spider-Man swinging alongside Iron Man for the first time on the big screen.

You bet people are gonna freaking clap. :funny:

Iron Man being in this movie is quite amazing. Marvel is letting Sony use their best property in a film they won't directly profit from. I think this was only allowed because Marvel had the creative control over the script.

How do you know people clapped when they saw the Iron Man shot? That comes right at the end of the trailer, so they could be clapping for the whole thing, but those assuming it's for Iron Man would see it that way because the audience begins their applause at that point.

"Yo, Iron Man gonna be in this movie? We gotta see this, mayne." - audience member #102

I'm trying to think the parts that were highlights in my crowd. All of Tony Stark's scenes definitely were (particularly the "this is not a hug." I think they also loved the very, very first shot of Spider-Man as the slow realization that he was there crept over the audience. The "you guys are losers" got a chuckle. I don't think the boat scene got much of a reaction, though.

Saw the trailer in front of a movie yesterday. Small matinee crowd, big reaction. Stark's inclusion is obviously the biggest thing to hook the GA into buying another ticket for yet another Spider-man reboot, so let's hope he stays front and center in the marketing.

Yeah, I guess so.
But I don't want the GA to get dissapointed, too.
As in, basically showing all of Stark's scenes/quotes in the trailers. Because he recently said he didn't have that big of a role. And I already saw too much of him.

That's a good point. With Sony marketing this, who knows how it will turn out.

If they're disappointed Tony doesn't have 5 hours of screen time in a Spider-Man movie, that's on them.

Yeah, I think they have to slow down the marketing on Stark.
Or just re-use footage. I hope we don't see much of new scenes of him. Just new shots of already the car/hug scene, or in the New Avengers Facility.

It'll be the best Spider-Man film ever made until the sequel comes out. They won't mess it up

Oh, nobody has doubts about this being the Spider-Man movie that we have been waiting.
It was just about the marketing of Stark being used. I just hope they don't spoil most, if not all, of his scenes in the movie. :)

I think they are going to use alot of unused footage from Civil War in this movie.

The pre airport battle is missing alot of stuff.

I think we'll see Spider-Man meet Black Widow, Vision, War Machine, & Panther pre fight at the Germany airport.

"What we discussed keep your distance, web em up".

First he'll say there's alot going on you don't understand

He's wrong he thinks he's right that makes him dangerous

Go for his legs

More details for the audience all their pre fight talks that we got from Team Cap but not Team Stark

Those moments will be cinema gold and help show why Peter is having trouble adjusting to being just friendly neighborhood Spider-Man after such a thrill ride in his greatest fight of his career so far.

That would actually be very cool. And a good reason for Black Widow, Vision, War Machine, & Panther to have cameos. That really would be cool indeed, and now that I think about it, I want it to happen :woot:

Yeah... No. That depends on if they can get Johansson, Cheadle, Bettany & Boseman back for this film which I very much doubt. Sony would have to pay a fee for all four of them & of course they're not going to pay that much for a 20 second cameo.

Yeah... No.

First off don't be snarky if you don't know what your talking about.

Every MCU actor has a clause in their contract where three minutes from previous films used or unused can be put in any other future MCU film
