This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]513015[/split]
The 'flack' she got was disgusting and borderline embarrassing
When I stated "Everybody know and loves", I'm including the color of her hair. Only thing that would be different would be the color of her skin -- that's it.
Yeah... because zendaya looks natural with red hair.... (she doesn't and she's worn it and it looks awful)
And there's your argument right there, man.
It just boggles my mind how people can be open to some characters being race-swapped (mostly the smaller ones like Liz, Ned Leeds, etc.) yet get up in arms if a major character could potentially be of a different race.
Either commit fully or don't commit at all, honestly.
I didn't see any of that. But I'd be willing to bet my Marvel Legends collection that if that movie had turned out a masterpiece, people would be hailing Jordan as perfect casting. Because he was.
We could just go in circles about this race change thing for days, guys![]()
Uhh, no thanks to that. I'd rather have race-swapped versions of classic characters than new characters made for the movie. We both know Marvel should never have to do that for a Spider-Man movie with Spidey's rich supporting cast. Marvel are keeping their roles under wraps (which why the Trades are conflicting with one another)/I just hope they're being honest with these casting names and arnt substitutes... not announcing a name is one thing to halt backlash... but disguising it as another name.. especially for supporting cast feels very cheap...
True, so I'm just letting it go. I know where I stand and others know where they stand.
I'm mostly just glad we got more casting announcements today.![]()

No, it's actually not. Movie Studies use code-names all the time to keep the character they're auditioning for from leaking.Agreed. It's kind of dumb to use some fake names.

My money is on Tony being Harry and Laura being Liz.

Maybe they're not made up characters. Maybe Zendaya is Michele G. and Tony is this guy --> http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Manuel_Arguelles_(Earth-616)
I disagree... marvel seems pretty fantastic at honoring it's history.. and it's extremely likely they may want to save mj/gwen/Harry (Harry and him are not childhood friends in the 616 books)
And as I've said.. his mid-town high supporting cast is pretty small in 616 history... consisting of literally just flash and liz... this franchise will at least spend 1.5 films in highschool... 2 even.. he'd need a cast fleshed out. And when he graduates... half that cast likely won't go with him to ESU
Exactly. Why not talk about them as actors? Me too, we've been spoiled with the Spider-Man news this week![]()
^ I like that idea, spideyboy
