Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse News and General Discussion Thread

Wow. We are at 65 reviews and NO negatives. I have no words for this. Spider-Man 2 was the last time I remember a Spidey film doing this well. That being said, it's apparent that we are looking at a film that is truly special, right now.

Reading what Jason Latour (co-creator of Spider-Gwen) had to say gave me chills.

Here are some screen caps of his Instagram posts. Powerful stuff.

If I remember correctly, SM2 made it to over a 100 positive reviews before tallying the first negative. Pretty impressive.

I had very little hype for this, but the buzz for it has changed my mind. I see screenings happening on the 7th, so I am seeing this Friday night

Same.

The eyes on Spider-ham’s nose always bothered me. I bet we get a spin off with him though.

I can see Spider-Ham being the character that steals the show.

Preview screenings in the UK are on December 8th and 9th, but I’m going tomorrow to a preview before the previews lol, I cannot wait to watch this! Will probably give my thoughts after seeing it, spoiler-free, ofcourse.

Armond White will likely be the first negative review. If it’s almost universally loved by critics and GA then he’ll hate it.

With marvel/sony deal coming up for renewal could anyone see sony saying, ok you have live action pp we'll have live action mm?

Seeing as how Homecoming already has the groundwork for Miles setup, he’d likely appear in Far From Home in a cameo or in the third Spider-Man movie which would be Holland’s last solo film.

Ok, i just learned that it's released in january 10 here (Argentina), yeah that's one freakin' month from everywhere else... sigh

God forbid they advertise their movie that's about to be released in a highly competitive month.
Yeah, its almost like they are trying to make money out of their movie.. typical Sony.

I keep going on RT expecting there to be a negative review and there is still none lol. Keep wondering when we will get one.

Really that many with spiderman 2?

So, we're are 69 reviews with no negatives yet?! I cannot wait! This is going to be AMAZING! SPECTACULAR! WEB OF!!
Okay, the last one didn't really make sense, but it'll be awesome!

Damn have any Spider-Man movie gotten so much critical reception? Probably Ramis first two right. Gonna check Wikipedia :p

Peter's life is pretty depressing but I honestly don't have a problem with it 'cause it's definitely gonna be in service of a real satisfying character arc.

Who am I? You sure you want to know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If somebody told you it was a happy tale, if somebody said I was just your average guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied. But let me assure you, this, like any other story worth telling...

I HAVE to show that Spider-Gwen London thing to my daughter! She. Will. Flip!!!

Got back from the cinema about 40 minutes ago, it’s after midnight UK time so my review’s not going up yet but, honestly, this film is the real deal. I even lowered my expectations before I went in but it lived up to them and then some. The references, the characterisations, the action. The animation is great but, I gotta be honest, I think people are overhyping it. Stuff we have seen before, just not on that scale, that budget or that long period of time (especially the final battle). Put it this way - worthy challenger to Avengers: Infinity War as my film of the year and up there as a worthy contender to mix it up with the “God-tier” level of Pixar films.

Oh yeah, the post-credit scene is worth the price of admission alone

So...70 reviews, and we're still waiting for our first nay-sayer?! AWESOME!

Glad you had a good time!

At this time how would you rank it along the Spidey films?
