Tom Holland showing great taste
What kind of foolish logic is that? Because he had to do the symbiote storyline the only way to do it was to give Peter an emo look and dance like an idiot?
That's an excellent 2+2=5 reasoning you've come up with there.
Webb might have some bad ideas, but everybody have good and bad ideas, it doesn't make anyone, either Raimi or Webb a bad director.
From what I know, most people don't like Sandman/Uncle Ben thing from Spider-Man 3, IT WAS RAIMI'S IDEA!!!and yet... I love it.
...I was going more for the idea that Sony was forcing Raimi to do this and that and he lost passion for the project. Hence the random messy stuff that went into it.
I personally don't like Uncle Ben's killer being Sandman because it's too convenient of a coincidence.
That was no excuse to make a half assed job of it. I say that as a huge Raimi fan but he made SM-3 worse than it needed to be even with all the stuff Sony lumbered him with that he didn't want to do.
But again he has two excellent Spider-Man movies under his belt so he retains the goodwill from the fans because we've seen he can do greatness. Not seen that from Webb so his input is worthless to me.
It's so weird hearing him talk about being a teen when TASM came out. Quite the trip remembering that the newest big stars in Hollywood are the same age as you.

I personally think the two Webb films are great. To each their own.
I like it, because it's not just retcon for the sake of the retcon or "shock", it's actually important for the story of both characters in so many ways.
It doesn't take anything from the original movie, because the blonde guy is still responsible for Ben's death, but it add so many layers. Peter for this whole time though that it was his fault, than he start to blame Sandman onl to realise that nothing is so black&white as he thought, he can forgive him, and himself. I love it.
It didn't really make the burglar responsible for me. It's not like he told Flint to kill Ben. Ultimately Flint pointed the gun and was the one who "accidentally" killed Ben.
I get what they were trying to do with the theme of the film and I'm glad you got something out of it. For me I couldn't get past that change.

PS. I LOVE EMO DANCE PETER. I LOVE THIS WHOLE SEQUENCE. This is brillant, this is this nerdy Peter who never had a chance to be "cool", So now under influence of Venom he is acting as if he was "cool" and it's hilarious. This music, this editing, jokes... I mean... LOOK AT THIS GIRL IN THE THUMBNAIL xD This is self-aware clever joke, not some forced unfunny quips.
Listen I think we know what this movie is going to be. All jokes aside if you liked the first two you will like this one and if you didn’t you most likely won’t. I think it’s safe to say that for the most part the notorious MCU “haters” like myself all know what we are getting. We are on this train for the nostalgia. That’s what’s stringing us along here. We just want to see these characters back one last time. Trust me, I know I’m going to have issues with some of the choices when handling the returning characters as well no doubt about it.
This is the MCU sandbox, their world and unfortunately the returning characters are going to be handcuffed and subjected to the MCU treatment. That being said, can’t help but still be irrationally excited to see them even if I have to sit through a ton of painfully cringe type dialogue and moments in the process. Got to get through hell to make it to heaven. I’m just hoping heaven is as pretty as advertised cause I’ve waited a long time to see them.
This is precisely why I have a problem with it honestly, it's so far out there that you can't take it seriously, even though he actually does do some bad things with consequences, stuff like that scene ultimately makes a joke of the storyline. The black suit and its effect on Peter is not something the audience should be laughing at.This clip is GOLD because we ALL KNOW Tobeys Peter is not cut like this fr lol thats what makes it funny lol never in a million would that be peter parker lol idk why so many hate it like its a serious scene or something

It also probably would have helped to introduce the black suit a lot earlier, and not do the weird emo look at all, just have him look increasingly disheveled.I think a lot of people get that you're not supposed to take the dance scene seriously. And I think for a lot of people, that's the problem. Peter had just seemingly murdered Flint and, at the very least, knowingly disfigured his best friend on purpose (assuming he didn't think he'd killed Harry too). After all that, we get this sorta wink-and-nudge sequence where he's acting like a complete goofball. It just kills the momentum and stops the movie in its tracks.
I think if Raimi had started with that sequence and built up to Peter "killing" Sandman, mutilating Harry, and then attacking MJ then he wouldn't have lost the audience. It would've been a huge gut punch for the audience in terms of it feeling like a true descent into villainy.
Guys, just wanted to pop in here real quick, because after tonight i am most def going dark until i see this Thursday. This whole journey has honestly been some of the most fun and engaging I've had posting on this site. Not QUITE as crazy as, say, the lead up to BvS (for me at least) but It has been a HELL of a ride.
I think I speak for most of us here when i say after FFH I had such an apathetic "whatever" attitude to these Tom Holland movies and really couldn't care what they did with the third movie. And then as soon as Alfred Molina was cast a year ago my interest for this popped up 10000% and made me realize that they're doing something crazy with this movie. And then all of the online scoopers started swearing that Tobey and Andrew were in this and the light bulb went off that this might actually be one of the most brilliant CBM movie ideas ever. To bring together several generations and iterations of a character on screen to team up. Days of Future Past PLAYED with that idea a little and everyone loved that movie so seeing three different Spider-men teamed up made my hype skyrocket to Spider-man 3/ Avengers/BvS levels.
So anyway y'all its been an incredible ride and I'm gonna miss the lead up a little. But just like with Endgame where I was SURE there was no way such an ambitious concept could be topped...here we are. And i have NO idea what could come next after this.
