Maybe Aunt May will get an actual arc this go :o

But I doubt it lol
Pipe dreams, dude. Pipe dreams. What we need is more of Hot Aunt May jokes instead. :hehe:

We will probably find out whether that is it very soon.
I'd buy this if SM3 does turn out to be Spider-Verse.

Wait, Batalon and Tomei on set already? With some reveal (hopefully) tomorrow? Man, can't wait!

P.S: What was revealed on Kimmel for the previous movies?

For Homecoming, it was the very first trailer
For Far Home Home, it was the new suit (cause they were in the middle of filming) He also announced the title but like others mentioned, I think that was first announced on Instagram.

Holland wore his new Spideysuit on Kimmel, I remember.

Given the probable Multiverse angle, Homeworlds is a good title. I mean, on their own merits, Homecoming and Far From Home are meh titles, but they make sense in context. Same here. Homeworlds is a meh title, but it fits the context and would continue the "Home" trilogy teeming of these movies.

If true, it works

On Maguire coming back, that'd be awesome but I'm not sure how likely it is. Isn't he basically semi-retired from acting?
I might compare Tobey's (Parker) to Tom Wellings recent Smallville, crisis on infinite earth, Cameo... (Wellings also took a break from acting after Smallville for a while, an even after starting back up, was always reluctant to return to the character for anything else, but finally made a return when he felt the right story came along)

but, I could see him being the Peter who retired and settled down with MJ, had kid(s) (I mean that's seem fitting for his character who always just wanted to give it up to be with MJ)

maybe ad a pilot twist, since it has been so long since we've seen them, perhaps his daughter Mayday, starts to develop into her own powers/figures out who her father was, an wants to take on the legacy (becoming Spider-Girl) and Peter reluctantly becomes her superhero mentor (believing that if he didn't help her, she would just go off and do it on her own, anyway and get hurt)

Welling probably isn't the best example. he was reluctant the moment it mean't being Superman. he didn't wanna be Superman. They only talked him into it by saying Don't worry you don't have to be Superman you can just be Clark Kent.

With Toby i can only imagine money will talk. i don't see them wanting him to be just Peter Parker. its about Spider-man after all, so you wanna see 3, 4 or 5 spider-men on screen together.

I actually like this idea. You can say that after SM3, Peter decided to retire and focus on his relationship with MJ.

Still don't want to see Multiverse stuff in this movie but if do some separate Spider-Verse movie, I'd be down for this.

See this was sorta what I was hoping for this movie. After Peter's identity is revealed to the world, you got villains coming out of the woodwork trying to hunt him down.

Don't need BJ Novak returning tho...
Me too. I thought Scorpion and the Spider Slayers would have been a logical step for the sequel.

Rumored castings are not confirmed? In other news, water. Wet.

Cool to see the Spider-Slayers in live-action though.

According to ETcanada a rep for Sony has said "“Those rumoured castings are not confirmed."

Which if true, isn't exactly denying it.

?? Um... TlRhis doesn't sound like denying. More like "We at Sony have yet to announce it officially to the public".
Ugh.. want it confirmed already!

Imagine seeing Kimmel's show tomorrow with him talking with Tom Holland about SM3.

Tom says that they might have more guests incoming sometime in the conversation.

In drops Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield on call.

Cue Internet proceeding to lose their utter s***.

I'll freakout if that happens

Exactly! If it wasn't true , they would at least claim " that's false". They aren't denying it.

They're basically saying either " We're still in talks" or " We want to wait for a formal Marvel and Sony joint press release and roll out".

We also have to keep in mind that Sony also denied that they were in talks to have Spiderman join the MCU years ago , and they also denied they were still in talks with Marvel back when Disney and Sony had that infamous falling out.

Matt Reeves also denied that Affleck was leaving The Batman.

Zack Snyder denied that Zod was the villain in Man Of Steel.

Studios tend to keep their cards close to the chest with these type of talks ,and will want to wait until a time of their own choosing to much an announcement.

I don't really buy the Spider Slayers rumor .

Smythe was a part of Max Dillions origin in ASM 2 , so if he has a role in a Multiverse crossover , it would make some sense , but I'm skeptical of the rumor as a whole.

There have been several rumors and alleged reports over the past week, some of which sound plausible , and other which sound just made up.

The rumors that seem the most plausible to me are two or more villains, a Tobey and Andrew appearance, and Dr Strange and the multiverse being a key part of the plot.

The Tom Hardy Venom , Miles Morales, and Spider Slayers rumors sound like bs to me , but we'll see.

Now would be the ideal time to do Spider-Slayers with JJJ introduced. I want JJJ's face on a robot TV screen ranting and raving piloting it from a cozy chair as he's trying to use it to beat up a kid.
