I think its clear Ock plays both sides at different points of the film.

Whats blowing my mind (more than the obvious plot to conceal tobey and andrew) is the lack of vulture or mysterio or shocker or scorpion...

Like, I am not clamoring for all of them. But to have 5 villains (including Ock) and NOT do sinister six is ... blowing my mind.

Will it be venom?! So confused.

But hey, it could lead into the MCU ock reveal for post credits and inevitable MCU six. Food for thought.

I think my friend said it best when he compared our three Spider-Men to the Star Wars franchise.
  • Tobey MaGuire's Spider-Man: Original Trilogy
  • Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man: Prequel Trilogy
  • Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Sequel Trilogy

I think one issue I have with this storyline is that this Peter hasn't even met versions of these characters yet. It means something to the audience to see them again, but not Peter. And to me it just says we're never going to see bonafide MCU versions of these characters.
That’s the biggest issue with this going multiverse. I would have no issue with them having Holland fight the multiverse villains if it was much farther down the line after we’ve been introduced to the MCU incarnations of them. Now that they’re doing this, I don’t think we’ll see any MCU incarnations of these characters as they would take the mindset of “Been there, done that” which is disappointing to say the least.

Did Doctor Octopus' tentacles become Iron Man/Stark Tech?

Major potential spoilers for the movie alert!

According to a rumor from reliable Reddit leaker MyTimeToShineHello who accurately leaked some dialogue from the first trailer weeks before it released, Doc Ock is still a good guy, and is indeed the same one from the end of SM2(so not a variant). The reason his tentacles are like that is because Green Goblin(the main villain of the movie) is controlling Octavius with stolen Stark tech.

Honestly, it's weird that the MCU's take on Spider-Man is like the least comic book accurate when compared to his two predecessors.
  • Doesn't take any photos for the Daily Bugle.
  • No Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacey, or Harry Osborn.
  • No official mentions of Uncle Ben.
  • Doesn't struggle with his daily finances/expenses.
If you took away all of the MCU references from this franchise, then you'd be left with a very plain and uninspiring portrayal of the character.

Somebody should do a side-by-side of the shots from Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Spidey jumping after Gwen and compare it to the shots at the end of this trailer 'cause I'm pretty sure that's what they're going for. Andrew Spidey getting the redemption of saving this falling person would be nice.

I wonder if the building the Green Goblin bombs is an apartment complex. Because if it is
that could mean he's attacking Peter directly, and he ends up killing May or maybe Happy, who seems to be in the same spot.

Happy looks like he’s biting it in the car he’s shown driving, I’m guessing in the same scene that shows an explosion in a skyscraper’s lobby.

Maybe the Goblin kills both him and May?

So I know I am late was hanging out with a friend earlier but did see the trailer right away. So a few thoughts now that I am home.

1. Surprised they are not going to show Andrew and Tobey they are leaving money on the table by not showing them and its to bad toby and Andrew are going to like have to lie some more.

2. The CGI looked really really bad like surpisly bad and I almost never complain about that thing because CGI in movies for like 10 years looks really really good like 95% of the time. I hope it looks better at the end.

3. Was nice to see some shots and like sandman and lizard even if it was short.

4. I still wonder if Mysterio might show up has like a surprise or something to make it sinister six. We know 5 seems like they might has well get 1 more to make it the six.

5. Am I going crazy or was tom wearing the ps4 spiderman suit in part of the trailer?

Ok going to try to catch up on this thread before I go to bed lol.

Surprised that sony didnt just put the tickets up with this trailer being its a month out seems like a good time. Hopefully I can get tickets for around 6pm for December 16th when tickets go on sale on the 29th.

Just woke up.

I have watched it twice in quick succession and...

Meh.

Film looks fine. But... As a trailer it did nothing for me.

Well I absolutely love it and can’t wait!

It looks epic, we’re getting amazing villains from the old films and this trailer basically confirmed Spider-verse which is awesome.

The stakes look high, the action looks insane and I’m loving the concept.

Optimism in this thread is so refreshing lmao

Ummm its honestly crazy how i didn't feel **** all watching that trailer. Im still watching but honestly that trailer was NOT it. Respect to the spidey fans that will have a blast with this though

You could be one of them. Who knows? :cwink:

I think that for the fans that trailer suffices but for everyone else it’s a bit of dud.

I'm kinda of two minds about it. Despite the iffyness of some of the CGI I loved the big action shots, but the trailer itself was edited so strangely, almost like a patchwork.

The only thing that was off to me in the trailer was Strange again. His behaviour is really bizarre, or at the very least Cumberbatch doesn't seem engaged.
