VOICE (V.O.):

As we drift through the cityscape, we fall upon a lone figure crouched on the ledge of an East Side brownstone; cloaked in shadow, with a highlight rim of red and blue. His back is turned to the street below.

The wind howls through the Manhattan Skyline as car horns blare and human traffic shifts, humming like an ongoing urban symphony.

SPIDER-MAN (V.O.):

A woman’s scream splits the silence.

The Amazing SPIDER-MAN turns his head; the eyes of his cowl catching the distant light of Midtown. Repositioning himself, Spidey kicks his legs and vaults into the air. With a backwards somersault, Spider-Man throws out an arm and shoots a web-line catching scaffolding three stories up across the street. Using the line, Spidey pulls himself up and catches the scaffold rail in both hands. Instantly, he crouches and uses his momentum to leap even higher, throwing another web-line at the corner of a high rise down the block. Spidey swings straight into camera.

CUT TO BLACK:

“SPIDER-MAN” MAIN TITLES

FADE IN:

EXT: - NEW YORK ALLEYWAY – NIGHT

A woman, MARTHA CONNORS, cowers in terror in the back of an alley. An ominous SHADOW crawls along the ground, cascading up the walls an enveloping the woman. A beastly snarl quivers from the lips of the unseen assailant.

MARTHA CONNORS:
Curt...Curt, please...

The assailant stops advancing. A tail slithers behind him. A reptilian eye glistens in the moonlight. A growl hums in the bowels of his throat.

LIZARD:
...Martha...

MARTHA CONNORS:
Oh Curt...

With a sigh, Martha faints. Kneeling, the LIZARD scoops Martha up into his arms; a HOMELESS MAN shuffles across the sidewalk and peers into the alley.

HOMELESS MAN:
Hey buddy...spare some change? Tryin’ to get bus fare, y’know.

With a snarl, the Lizard stands cradling Martha. He turns his head; his jaw curls back to show rows of yellow, razor shaped teeth. The Wino takes a step back, wheezing slightly.

HOMELESS MAN:
Jesus...Christ!

Suddenly, an NYPD Squad Car pulls up to the alley, turning on its spotlight. The Lizard snaps his jaw and squints his eyes from the light. Turning back he takes Martha into one clawed hand and uses the other to peel off a manhole cover. A pair of COPS run into the alley pulling their firearms.

COP 1:
Hold it right there buddy!

COP 2:
Put the lady down, hands on your head!

With a roar, the Lizard slings the manhole cover at the cops. They duck as the cover smashes into the side of the squad car. The cops look at the damage. Turning back, they catch a fleeting glimpse of a tail darting into the manhole.

Across the street, Spider-Man lands on the top of a water tower. Hunched, he keeps vigil as one of the cops sifts through the damage of the car, pulling a CB Radio.

COP 1:
This is IL-19; we’ve got a 10-34 in progress. Suspect has disappeared into the sewer with accounted hostage at Park and East 57th Street.

Spider-Man looks on as the Cop relays the information.

SPIDER-MAN (V.O.):
Sometimes the most insignificant of occurrences can become life altering. I should know...

FADE TO:

EXT: - FOREST HILLS – DAY

We roam down a pleasant street in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens, New York. A NEWSPAPER BOY rides by, hurling a paper onto the doorstep of the Parker House.

SPIDER-MAN (V.O.):
It started like any other day...

I didn't see one for kidnapping either...so Assault seemed like the only logical choice from what there was.

BTW, as I'm still recieving a few PMs on the topic, we have all trhe writers we need thanks. When Series 2 comes around any other writers can take a shot. Be aware though that some of the series 1 writers have already claimed some series 2 episodes and if it comes down to it series 1 writers will get priority.
