Comics Spider-man Reign

Also, this title is so twisted. But in a cool way! That stuff about MJ dying because of Peter poisoning her with radiation every time she was "loving" him... :wow:

I like this story. Alot.

Just hope all the Venom shenanigans in the last issue doesn't blow it. If all goes well, this story is going down as a classic.

Yes! I knew it! I was right

Yes, you were. Kudos to you.

I really enjoyed this issue. Zombie Doc Ock was freakingly cool. His eyes behind those shades looked really bizarre. The bit with MJ's corpse was ick. Especially when Peter kissed it.

I hope Venom doesn't muck up this story in his usual fashion. Btw, is Saks actually Eddie Brock?? He just said Eddie is a part of him. It was a little confusing....

I can't wait to read this!! So far, this is really becoming the best Spidey-tale in a long while!

that was the symbiote talking, not Saks...

Ah, I see. So, Brock isn't even around. Should have known, since Brock would never condone the multiple slaughter of innocents.

Well, I really hope he will survive. And open to some sequels!

This is a little bit confusing. So is Doc Ock dead or just really old. And if he is dead does that mean there are zombies in this universe? Also, was he hallucinating when MJ bit him or is she a zombie too? All in all I liked it a lot but I didn't really get that part.

I think his brain is still functioning, but his body is dead. That's why the tentacles were able to move, find Peter, take him to the graveyard etc.

Ock said his body had failed him with age. And all he has left are his four sons, meaning his tentacles, of course.

Also, was he hallucinating when MJ bit him or is she a zombie too? All in all I liked it a lot but I didn't really get that part.

Hallucination.

Ock tossed MJ's body on top of him, and he started hallucinating.

Do you think that Peter will die in the end? and return to MJ's arms? I think that'd make sense... the way things have been set up, tho I haven't read #3 yet...

I guess he will sacrafice himself to destroy Venom and Sinner Six. His great sacrafice will inspire all the people and they will rebel against the Mayor. But if Peter survives, he will lead the revolution. And thus...Spider Man: Reign II!

I really hope there's a sequel. 4 issues are not enough for us!

I want Spidey to survive, but no sequels, please. We all read and loved Dark Knight Returns, right? How about "Dark Knight Strikes Again"? It was horrible. It took what made the first one great, and trampled all over it. In fact, I loaned out my copy of DKR, and my friends asked me if there was a sequel...I told them never to read it if they liked the first one.

Then again, books like Marvel Zombies work perfect for sequels and what not...so I guess we'd have to see. If it's a sequel done 15-20 years later, I'd have to pass.

Does anyone know where I can download part 3, I'm running low on funds this month

great read. I just keep wondering if any one, such as other superheros, will come out and help?

Oh, good, it wasn't my imagination then how much DKSA sucked. Way to jump the shark, Miller. Ugh.

This issue pushed it from good to great. I was really surprised and knocked off my feet by this issue. I haven't seen a Spidey story do that IN A LONG TIME. Ah, it feels good.

Yeah, this is definitely an awesome miniseries. I have to say that # 3 is definitely the penultimate issue of the mini, hands down. When Peter came busting out of that coffin with the red and blues on I was like, "**** YEAH, BEOTCH!"

And finding out how MJ died was extremely interesting. I always wondered if more than Peter's blood was radioactive. Heh.

But this is definitely a very depressing Spider-Man story, more so than usual. I definitely see Peter getting killed. And the cover for # 4 doesn't really deny that he's going to die, heh.

Before #1 came out I remember reading some KA speal on Newsarama about how much of a fan of Spider-man he is and how much he loves and respects the legacy of the great creators who have worked on and defined Spidey over the decades, thing is I just don’t see that influence or grasp of the mythos in this story.

It’s just going from bleak to bleaker. Specifically talking about the scenes w/ MJ in #3.
Her being exhumed then us learning that Peter poisoned her w/ his radioactive body.
I don’t buy that, I know this is an alternative future, but how frikkin twisted is it that KA decides it turned out that PP is responsible for the death of his second true love?
You would think KA would realise how clichéd this idea actually is considering the amount of s-hit that has happened to PP/SM, hence it is also statistically unrealistic.

You can call me a ranting fanboy or whatever but I just think some things should be left untouched.
MJ being dead in this series is one thing, ok that’s fine Il go along w/ that, but digging her up and it being revealed that PP was responsible for her developing cancer? that’s just tactless and in bad taste. It seems making Reign as depressing as possible is the only card KA is willing to play in trying to seperate this from being an obvious DKR ripp off. He has been unsuccessful in this area.

Re: Venom showing up in this issue- what’s up w/ that full body shot that we get in the last few pages?
His head does not seem to have been drawn in so it looks like his hunch back is actually the shape of his head, a la Juggernaut style. Thought that looked dumb.

PS- I thought DKSA kicked ass because Miller did somthing different from the original.

It wasn't his radioactive blood that poisoned her. It was his radioactive man juice that did it.

That's been my main problem with Reign as well. It doesn't feel like a Spider-Man story.

Heck, it happened wayyyyyy back in the day to Aunt May. It was part of the Doc Ock "Master Planner" arc.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one who looked at Venom and thought Juggernaut. :)

It was... different, yes. I did rather like the opening bit with the Atom in the petrie dish, but overall I pretty much hated it. :)

Which is just, ugh, tacky. And still doesn't explain why a cure couldn't have been found.

when your body is filled with cancer all over, there is no cure man...

i like this s-h-i-t, everything of it, every little bit. its an amazing and brilliant, depressing and yet humane story. the only thing that really lacks is the artwork. its a bit too weird for me.

ah and that juggernaut venom... yeah.. ugly..
