Comics Spider-Man Reign

I must be the only person alive that enjoyed Reign.

It wasn't that bad. People just bag on it because they see it as a DKR-clone and they think it's icky that Pete's semen killed MJ. So sex is used as a plot-device in a Spidey book, get over it. :o

I've often said it's one of the greatest Spider-man stories ever written and it's evidence that Peter is one of the most, if not THE most, versatile hero in comics. We're used to seeing the snarky Spidey, but this was a bleak story with a grim version of Peter. Yet, it certainly worked.

I also liked the creepy use of Mary Jane and the emotional scene with Sandman and his daughter. I can understand why those might be off-putting to some readers, but I liked the horror-movie flavor of this story.

Reign is a great and really moving story. I really like it. I'm a sucka for alternate universe spidey anyway, my favourite spider, being Miguel O'hara.

Okay, phew.... I'm relieved to see that people here have good taste. :)

The Spidermancrawlspace folks were bagging on it recently...

I think a lot of people didn't give this a chance because of the art and how heavy it was on the TDKR homage.

That said, the characterization was great, I loved that it was all about Peter and MJ. Jameson was also really interesting in this. It was surprising, and yet, it made sense.

The symbiote being the ultimate villain was really efficient. Yes it was dark, and yes, seeing Peter in that place in the first issue made me uncomfortable the first time, but there is a lot of heart in this tale and the character developement is really good.

What do you guys think of Spiderman noir? I really like it as well.
