Comics Spider-Man Reign

Yes. But how did the frail old aunt may survive his irradiated blood? ISO-36! why not use that on MJ?

HA! Good point. However, Aunt May is a blood relative so I guess they could always give that argument. So, Spidey can give blood transfusions but he better not visit that sperm bank. :oldrazz:

I read this for the first time yesterday....amazing. I loved it. They should make a DTV movie or something like that.

I just need to reiterate the amazing respect between Spidey and Ock shown in this story. Even after Ock is dead and gone his arms fulfill his last dying wish and revive Spidey's consciousness to help him save the day.

Amazing writing.

He killed her with his cancerous sperm. Right?

It wasn't just that, he was irradiated. His blood, skin, everything. You go through enough x-rays and you will get cancer, so fyi never get an xray unless you absolutely need it, there's a reason those techs use massive lead shields. You stay close to someone irradiated and you will die. It's actually a pretty realistic concept. By now pretty much anyone that's been around the hulk would have died.

In fact isn't that how Betty Ross supposedly "died" back in the late 90s/early 00s. Cause of how much time she was around Bruce?

Considering the amount of gamma radiation he has (the deadliest form) one touch should be enough to be almost instant cancer for any normal human.

just reread this one. One of the best Spider-man stories ever? Probably!

Hardly. It was a good story but best ever? It doesn't crack the top 10 in my book.

Is Spider-Man: Reign a standalone story, or is it a story arc within the 616 universe? i.e. Amazing Spider-Man or Web of Spider-Man.

It's a stand alone story set in the future when Peter is an old man. Kind of like The Dark Knight Returns.

you should really like it! one of the better modern Spidey stories!

The only thing I liked about that story used to be my signature - 'there are 3 kinds of people: those who can do math...and those who can't'. Otherwise, meh.

I liked it. Not as good as TDKReturns but some scenes like MJ dying at the hospital are great.

Lol I thought Returns was one of the best Comic Book Stories ever!
Reading TDK Returns was tedious. There was no central storyline, and that Superman fight at the end of the comic was contrived and unnecessary.

So as you asked me why I thought SM2 was the greatest CBM, I'm going to ask you why you thought TDKR was one of the greatest comic book stories ever?

When I asked why you thought SM2 was the best CBM ever I just wanted to know purely because I was interested lol. I thought Returns was a great look at a superhero out of his time. I thought it did that better than the likes or Rises. The fight between Batman and Superman was great and the line he says after beating him was pretty cool. It think the sequel to Returns is pretty bad though.

lmao and I'm just interested in why you think TDKR is one of the best comic book stories. :)

On its own, the Batman/Superman fight was cool, and his quote was awesome, but only out of context IMO. I just didn't care for the story overall, that's all. Glad you enjoyed it though.

i enjoyed it. Although out of all the "future Spider-Man" stories i've seen, i like the MC2 (Spider-Girl) universe the best.

Hey, im a sucker for happy endings. Sue me. :yay:

I'm really sorry for you that you had to read ASM #8 then :csad:

Amazing S-M#8 was a bitter pill to swallow. Only Defalco wants Spidey to have a happy ending. The rest of the writers like to treat him like the Greek gods playing with the mortals. Mu ha ha ha ha! Especially Slott. Should have seen him wringing his hands in delight as he talked about all the death to happen in the Spider-Verse story. He is such a nut in person. Funny guy and very gracious.

Never read Reign. I do like the costume that was used.
