Spielberg Directing Roald Dahl Adaptation 'BFG'

BFG is an awesome book. Let's see if Spielberg actually does it though.

I wanna buy my ticket already.

Gah! I remember our teacher reading this to the class when I was eight years old! I don't remember much of anything (except the giant had large ears?) but it's a nice little blast from the past.

isnt that the book where they literally fart around for fun and to fly ?

I'm not holding my breath for this until Spielberg actually starts shooting this. We all know he likes attaching himself to several projects, bowing out, and someone else picks up the pieces.

Straight up. As much flak as Guillermo del Toro gets for keeping many plates spinning, Spielberg outright walks away from more projects than most directors are even ever attached to.

To be fair, if every director had the power and opportunities as Spielberg, they'd probably change their minds and back out a lot too.

Anyone remember the animated movie? The only thing I remember from the animated movie was this:

This looks like the real deal, this time. Deadline is implying he's committed, though he might do the Hanks/Cold War film next.

OMFG! This is one of my favorite Dahl books! If Spielberg makes this I will **** my britches!

I always wondered why charlie and the chocolate factory got adapted twice but bfg and the twits have not yet had an adaption.

I'm excited by this

I'm not sure how old you are but you've never read any of those books when you were growing up?

Nope. When I was really young I mostly read Dr. Suess, Berenstain Bears, and Little Golden Books, but I never read Dahl.

I don't even remember having ever heard the name Roald Dahl's until this adaption was announced. I read a lot and have since I was old enough to carry/drag a book, but at that age my selection mostly depended on what my mother or relatives bought me or what I found in the library. Through some fluke I never landed on Dahl.

I'm 23.

Yes! :awesome: the animated movie was one of my favourites as a kid. THR tweeted that the film is eyeing an earlier 2015 start date, so hopefully it all pans out

Ohh joy watch it get updated and the characters moved to America, still can't believe he wanted to do that with potter

The only good Dahl movie so far has been the witches, and as for people never hearing of him it's a uk vs us thing I read constantly, was reading p7 book in p2 and had never heard of Seuss till much later in life but had read every Dahl book

I don't think he'll do that.

Yeah that was 15 years ago when no one know the power of Potter.

It's all a lie until I see Spielberg in set photos.

It would be madness to move it to America, particularly with the uk's talent and tax incentives

Compared to our non-talent and exorbitant taxes? :oldrazz:
