Of all the fan bases there are in practically everything, are there any you think are really spoiled?

Like no matter they're given with that particular product, even if it's good, they'll still complain about it. This goes for sports fans too.

Have you seen the batboards?

Or the rest of the boards below the video games section?

Just using those as examples.

I'd say almost all fan bases are equally spoiled, entitled, and most of all hypocrites.

spoiled fans?... a LOT of them SMELL that way... ever been in an elevator full of them at a comic, sci-fi or gamers event being held at a convention hotel?... talk about gamey... :wow:

Have to agree... That said reading the posters in the DOCTOR WHO thread always makes me scratch my head. It really seems sometimes that they hate EVERYTHING about their franchise currently except for Capaldi in the role, otherwise every episode is never up to their rather lofty standards.

Most of them. Some fans have legitimate gripes but many will simply complain about anything that isn't exactly how they want things to be.

Batman goes one movie without mentioning his dead parents "Betrayal of the source material!" :cmad::o

Spider-man doesn't dress nerdy enough for some people "Betrayal of the source material!" :cmad::o

Superman does something in a movie Christopher Reeves didn't do "Blasphemy!" :argh::o

We are lucky we don't live in the times when the hulk was a bodybulider in green body paint and Captain America films looked like they were made on budget smaller than your average television commercial.

Some of us DID live through that time... and we actually DO know how lucky we are these days.

I love this fake trailer more every time I see it. If there were a late 70s/early 80's Avengers... This is pretty much how it would have gone.

People actually complained about that?

"Spoiled" how? Full of self-entitlement? Constantly pleased by consistent good things? Old and rotting?

Even the video game section has those.
DmC thread. *sigh*

Speaking of Hulk:
Marvel Studios made jokes about the purple pants and never made him wear one.
HOW DARE THEY? :argh:
:oldrazz:

I still remember somebody complaining about Amy Adams as Lois Lane because she's old and fat.

Don't ask me in what alternate universe Amy Adams is old or fat.

Internet, you see the weirdest 'fat' complaints on it.

I have to say that many fans of current comic book adaptations are spoiled. Older comic book fans remember a time when even the most notable heroes had only a cheap TV movie or perhaps no live-action versions at all. The current landscape of theatrical hero releases was unthinkable. Yet some moviegoers seem overly critical when getting 3-5 movies of a hero is a gift in itself.

As for spoiled sports fans, successful teams always have some of those. I'm part of a fanbase with high expectations every year, so I've heard that from time to time. I've probably said a few things that come off as spoiled as well. But that is a byproduct of passion, so it isn't a completely negative phenomenon.

I also remember someone analyzing a set pic of Anne Hathaway from TDKR and saying she had fat ankles, or something.

Don't you people know?

There's the Dark Knight trilogy and every other movie.

Sports fans and geek fans are the worst, as they will actually pick apart an athlete or actor and go for the lowest blow when doing it, whether it's a physical trait, something about their family, etc. I've seen it. They've also been pretty prejudiced at times also, ironic considering they're supposed to be the ones that know what it's like to be shunned.

I remember thinking that I was being kind to the Adam West Batman series and Schumacher's B&R by calling B&R either the The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Returns of the Adam West Batman. I was surprised to find that I had gravely insulted the Adam West series' campiness integrity.

And then I said that I liked Garfield's Peter Parker because I could relate to him a bit better. My defense of this version was that plenty of high schoolers act like jerks...this, and Garfield's Parker, are apparently as bad as underage drinking, pre-marital sex and drug use.

Not sure if I would call the fans involved in either of these spoiled, but maybe out of touch.

I dont really think, by youre definition, that many fanbases are spoiled. The whole thing of "even if a product is good" is subjective just because you or I think it's good doesnt mean the next person has to.

People actually complained about that?
A lot of people actually did that.
I have a friend who really doesnt like Andrew Garfield for Spider-Man because he looks too handsome.

There is currently a multi-page thread on how Peter Parker should dress and there was one about what hair style he should have

Hahhahahahahahahahaha!sheesh!
Thats kinda why i dont venture into some threads.i can handle alot but discussions on why the torch and jimmy Olsen shouldn't be black is a bit too much!:cwink:
Long long ago in a galaxy far far away( before the internet!) i met a comic book owner who i would discuss how i would make that old spiderman tv show. he told me "Well one day when you MAKE "YOUR" MOVIE!.. you can make it anyway you want!"... which is now why i just sit back and enjoy the ride.

A hair thread was made for the first Amazing Spider-Man movie, I jokingly suggested Peter should be bald.

I used to be a pro wrestler. It's easily wrestling fans. They will 'boycott' or want to cancel something if they don't like what they see. They hate everything even when it's good.

I have to agree with this. From what I've seen, wrestling fans can be incredibly spoiled especially the IWC.

I like arguing over DW. :(
