Ok, this containts Spider-Man 3 spoilers, so be ready.

Venom will be back. Think about it from an exexutives point of view. You have all this hype surrounding Venom. If this movie breaks Spider-Man 1's records, it's gonna be partly due to Venoms fanbase. Also, the way he "died" is easily retconnable. Say he just went right throught he explosion, out the other side, surivived, but was badly injured and needed time to heal. Now, you have, arguably, the most popular Spider-Man villain from what is possibly the most sucsessfull Spider-Man film. This character equals money. And some of you seem to be forgetting, regardless of what Venom symbolized in the movie, or what Raimi wanted to do with him artistically, that when it comes right down to it, this is a buisness.

So Venom will be back, be it in his own film or in a Spider-Man sequel, as a villain again, or as the Lethal Protector, depending on what route they choose to go, simply because Venom=Money. And execs, who are in charge of all this, love money.

My thoughts exactly. Venom will return. That disappearing act s--t pretty much confirms that he will return.

you saw his rib cage in the explosion.....hes so dead. just like GG and Doc Ock and GG2 they wrote him out

Wrong, the spidey franchise was huge with it's first two movies, and Venom wasn't in any of those.Venom won't be back, did you even see the movie,he's freakin bones like the guys on the first SM movie when the Goblin throws the pumpkin bomb at them.

It's spidey that will make SM4 just as successful as the other three movies, not Venom.I hated the New Goblin's costume, but I'm not in serious denial saying that Harry will live and become the Hobgoblin in SM4.

How come Harry didn't turn into bones and disappear when Peter threw the pumpkin at him?

This franchise was worth 1.6 billion dollars without Venom's stupid ass.

It'll do just as well without him again in the future. He's dead. And long may he stay that way.

Venom deserved more screentime and I'm sure he'll get it in the future.

Because it was a different kind of pumpkin bomb.Just like the razorbats are a different type.

It doesnt matter if you see his skeleton. It's a frame of it, if even. Like I said, you guys are thinking about this from a movie goers stand point, not the stand point of "this guy is really popular and could make us a s**t load more money in his own series," like you should be. Either that, or you're allowing your personal dislike of Venom to get in the way of seeing that.

I love Venom; he's my favorite villian, but I'm pretty positive he's dead. The whole turning-into-skeleton thing wasn't good for Brock's health. If they really wanted to keep him alive, they would have told Rami to cut the explosion differently so it didn't look like Eddie died. Sad, since Venom had barely any screen time, but there's not really a way to bring him back.

VENOM IS RETURNING

If any of you were smart enough to remember that part of the symbiote is still alive:

In a test tube in Dr. Connors office!!

The rumor(I read this in a review and it sounded legit):

where you see Eddie screaming(this is at the end of the credits i think cuz it wasnt in the movie)

I didnt stay for the credits since i saw it at 1200 last nite and was too tired

anyone going tonite stay for the credits, and watch

Well the symbiote could just rebuild brock from his dna or something i mean it is a comic book movie

If they can totally retcon Uncle Ben's death, what makes it so hard to believe that Eddie's "death" can be be retconned as well? Or Doctor Octopus, for that matter? In the comics, how many times has Aunt May come back from the dead now? Dead people never stay dead when there's more money to be made. And these kinds of things can actually be explained in interesting and satisfying ways, it just depends on how good the writers are.

Doesnt the symbiote have a cloaking ability in the comics? Maybe the skeleton we saw was just him turning "invisible"....faking his own death?

Raimi wanted it dead and its dead. No loose end no questions.

Be that as it may....but Raimi may not be returning for the other sequels.

I think Venom will be back...but not for 4.
Honestly..who would want Venom back again right after the other one? It could be that Eddie is still alive, as is the symbiote. Eddie is badly hurt and it takes him 3 or so years to heal. He should be back in part 5 or 6 IMO.

Neither actually

His death fit well with the movie and thats that

Venom may or may not return, but it all involves two major things.

A) Money - Like they said, this is a buisness. Whether or not Brock will be Venom, it's up in the air. But if Venom does good, he may have a shot at a rematch. I mean, the death fit, but, if they have Scorpian...or they can just bring Brock back.

B) Fan-base - Goblins are popular. The Goblins appear twice. Even if it was just a hallucination, Norman appeared in all the movies. Why not have Brock come back for another go? Bring Carnage in even (although I think he'll be restrained, but...)

Either way, I liked his appearance. More screen time would have been better, but hey! If he died, that makes it fit all nicely togeter. If he's alive, EVEN BETTER!!!

LOL! They made sure he won't be back too.
Apparently these people missed it though.

Now, don't get me wrong, he was great...absolutely spot-on! But his death is very important to the story and the theme...he can't go on living or it's a huge symbolic failure.
