I appreciate the irony that Starfleet Academy the kind of show I'm advocating for (big time jump, new characters, new species, news interplanetary conflicts). I just don't trust the people behind Discovery to do a good job. lol.

The writers room seems to have more Picard vets then they do Discovery, though I understand if that isn't exactly helpful.
