Star Wars fan finds (police) force with him
May 25, 2007 02:38pm

A MELBOURNE Star Wars fan is to be charged after sparking a security alert at Crown Casino when a replica laser gun was spotted protruding from his backpack.

The 32-year-old was reportedly on his way to pose for a photo shoot commemorating the film's 30th anniversary when he was forced to the ground by police and arrested.

Dressed in black and carrying a replica laser blaster in his backpack, the fan alarmed diners at Crown Casino's food court.

He was surrounded by armed police, forced to the ground and handcuffed about 10am (AEST) yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said he was taken to St Kilda Road police headquarters for questioning and would be charged on summons with possessing an unregistered firearm.

The charge applied despite the gun being a fake, she said.

I wonder if it was a lightsaber protruding out of his back pack he would of had the same problem.

Dude should have known better.
People on edge about **** like that.
But the cops are wacky and were in need of some action.
